I've had jalapeņo chocolate cake and it was good.

Never had jalapeņo ice cream though.

I think this makes me a Mexican now
Had jalapeņo rice krispies the other day. Not sure I liked them.

grilled salmon with some sort of pineapple habanero glaze, dirty wild rice and asparagus. The fish was really good, even if the glaze was store-bought.

I never have cared for fruit pies, which is odd growing up in the South. Especially with fried pies filled with fruit being so big down here, granny used to make tons of them in the summer when the fruit trees started putting out, apple, peach, cherry, etc. Be in the kitchen all day rolling out dough, filling them with cooked fruit, fold them over, pinch the edges shut and fry them in big deep iron skillet full of lard. Gotta make that fruit healthy.

Don't really love pies at all, they're just alright, not my first choice for something sweet. I like chocolate pie, sweet potato pie and pecan pie, but that's about it. I prefer cakes and cookies as far as baked deserts go.

Cherry pie! And chocolate. Apple. Pumpkin.

I do like me some pie. Haven't had any lately and probably won't anytime soon.

I am a cake ***** though. I would go to weddings just to eat my helping and my wife's helping too.

I'm not much of a fan of cake; too dry for me. Cookies are ok, but I always eat them with several glasses of milk. Again, dry.

Pie is a different story. My wife makes her own crust because she didn't like how the store-bought ones tasted or flaked when they were done, so I'm sure that's a big part of it for me, but the fruit pies are some of my favorite desserts. Sweet potato pie is my go-to for holidays.

Favorite dessert, hands down, is peach cobbler with two scoops of Blue Bell homemade vanilla. That's a bowl full of reason to get up in the morning.

Do y'all like fried pies? Or is that not as big in Texas as it is the southeast?
