The mufflers are GT500 mufflers....thanks for the correction..........the cost for the track key install was $100.66. No... that is not a typo. What I really liked about the dealer is that only one person touched the car...........the installer. I am looking forward to the MGW shifter to be here by UPS tomorrow.....will let everyone know how that goes.

Never heard them on a 5.0, but I will tell you that now that I have a little over 2K miles on my 500, they have gotten significantly louder than when it was new.

I spent a lot of time researching mufflers(for sound......not weight, or tips or other considerations). We had a '99 lightning and used Bassani........but now I am eleven years older........67...........so the sound is just right with the Gt 500's.......deeper but no resonance and the wife (Katie) loves the sound.......am I lucky at 67 years old?

Will throw in my 2 cents. I gave my dealer a heads up on the potential headache of installation and the patch on the trackey site. It took them about a hr to get it done, they did have one freeze up but restarted it and it went quickly from there. $351.00 out the door. (friends with the owner, he told them to give me a deal)
Drove about 20 miles home, mostly highway. Noticed engine breaking for sure, seemed a bit peppier but who knows. Lopey Idle is lame IMO, barely noticeable
and I have Roush axlebacks and no discs in. Oh well, its a aspect of the car that I do want to own, even if its not as cool as was hoped for...
BTW Can someone tell me how I ended up a V6 member and how to fix it??

It's like being told you have a small pecker or something. It really bothers people.

I contacted 3 dealers in Northern NJ whose Service Managers never heard of TracKey but all had mechanics who did. One said it would take a month to update their system, one said they'll figure it out & the other one heard of it, looked into it further & downloaded the patch. Now it's a matter of getting the right price (discount off the $302).

I did put Gt500s ABs on my Boss and the result is great, my sides are open and the car was all midrange tone and quiet from the back, now the back has the deep gurgle on cold idle and "Bullit" like acceleration tone. its not as loud and bright and harsh as Roush under wot, and not as racey sounding as the Corsas, but just the right blend of classic v8 rumble I think.not a dramatic change, but a deeper classic tone and distributes the loudness all around. was worth it.

Yeah I keep thinking about the GT500 mufflers. I'd like a deeper tone but really don't want the car much louder. Maybe I'll get a chance to hear this setup on a Boss soon.

Lol! Thanks, ufnavy06!
I’m not 100% on how they will determine since I’m not a technician or an engineer, badasbuillitt. However, I know we have diagnostic tools and procedures in place for it. I say ENJOY IT!! Also, here is the link for the warranty info as well: http://www.trackey.ford.com/announce...12_TracKey.pdf

People we really need to relax about the worries with the warranty. It is going to be very difficult for Ford to say "you blew the this or that because of the tune on the car....that has been approved by CARB....that is backed by Ford (yes I know it is Ford Racing, but do you think they are really THAT separate of entities?)...sold by Ford...advertised by Ford...with a Ford Customer Rep on here saying the same thing....and on and on"
And more importantly it is going to be very difficult to prove any damage is caused solely because of TracKey. Use some common sense in the operation and maintenance of your vehicle and you will have VERY little to worry about...
What is the basis for everyone's worry about this issue? Do we really think the TracKey callibration is this huge ticking time bomb? What example in the past are we comparing this to or basing our feelings?
