I'm with you, my friend. I consider myself fortunate to have my '05 tucked up in the garage as a weekend toy. Of course, I'd have a '13 sat next to it in an instant if I could

Mind you, there'd also be a '65 vert, a '68 Fastback, and a '69 Sportsroof (restomod) next to it too, if I could

Hi all, first post. And despite the screenname, I am not here to cause a stir, I have owned two 'Stangs as well as the Z28.

With that out of the way, I understand the the reveal will most likely be in about 3 weeks, but I am not familiar with Ford's production schedule; so my question is when will the '13's be on the ground? I was getting ready to order a 2012 GT, but if the 2013's are close, thinking I might want to wait. Thanks for any info.

If they follow this year's schedule, production will begin mid-Feb. and deliveries starting mid-April. However people looking to purchase a Boss will likely still be subject to the same allocation lottery system that was used this year. This means placing an order doesn't mean that a car will be available. The delivery date is also predetermined, meaning some dealers will only get a car in the Fall of 2012, regardless of when the customer places their order.

I think I'm going to place an ad locally in which dealers will be asked to bid for the right to sell me a 2013 Boss 302.

Welcome to the forum, 91z28350! PTRocks is correct. That is how it worked out this year. You might be able to start ordering 2013s by December and they should start building around March 2012. If you do place an order, let me know so I can help you track it.

Thanks for the welcome! Still weighing my options, though if I can get the numbers to work out, I am hoping to buy a '12 GT500. We shall see!

Holy smoke, this thread has gotten scary quiet.
I say in 17 days we should see what the '13 will look like. And i have a feeling i'll like it, especially the redesigned rear end. But i'm waiting for the '15..... In the meantime.........

I'm thinking it's going to be a '16 for me before I get another. By then I'll probably try to pick up a Raptor as well, if I can fit it all in the cards.

I think this is more 05-09/10-12. Think 79-83, then 84-86, then 87-93....

That's obviously not gonna happen. Front and rear and that's it. The car has only two model years left to go, of which the last one will probably be poor on sales anyway with the 2015 coming up. I'm actually amazed that Ford has bothered to do a second facelift. That hasn't been done since the Fox.

But why go through the trouble and costs of a second facelift when all they had to do to boost sales is bring back screaming yellow?

I am actually amazed Ford did not make the Mustang go 14 years like the Fox did without any major changes other than front and rear clips.

It makes sense to me that Ford would freshen it up one more time just to stay competitive with a fresh look. Sales would certainly plummet to nothing if it kept the same look while everyone waits for the 2015 model. Ford has the money to do it so why not? People will buy fresh even if they only keep it two years until the 2015 comes out.

im not surprized that they would do a two year mild refresh...with modern computer design ect it can't be that hard...and even the cost involved must be way lower then in the past...

ps: the foxs had a number of differences besides front and rear clips over the years (interior alone 76-86 then 87-93)

16 days to go ;-)

I hear you. I can't believe with just over 2 weeks to go, we haven't seen any more spyshots than what we have.
