2013 MY refresh
I agree. While some love the GT500 look and others don't, I still think Ford has stolen the uniqueness away from the GT500. There are many other ways they could've gone in restyling the front end.
I don't get it; what's "ricey" about the 2013 thus far? The inclusion of the 2010-12 Shelby GT500 nose across the board (save for possibly the 2013 GT500 as we have yet to see it)?! LED tail lights?! HID headlights?! I mean, you along with several others complained virtually non-stop (some are still complaining) when the 2010 was first unveiled, saying there was too much black plastic. Judging from the spy shots, it appears as though Ford has addressed this. You along with several others complained virtually non-stop (again, some are still complaining to this day) about the rear end and its "diaper." Looking to the spy shots yet again, Ford has apparently addressed this, too.
Man, you're awfully hard to please, aren't you.

If LED lights constitute "rice," then BMW, Audi, Mercedes, et al produce some pretty ricey vehicles. All kidding aside, LED lights feature far less drain on the battery. They run cooler and last much longer than traditional halogen bulbs, too. It's called "technology," friend, embrace it.

Has anyone else noticed that the "power dome" seems to be gone? It's a shame, I quite liked it. Although I see how it might make the car look too busy with the GT500 fascia.

I actually think it will. The black trim was tasteful on the current car, and it made it inexpensive to change out things to make the car unique. For $500, you could basically swap body kits and not have to paint a thing.

These light revisions are making me very happy with my 2012. I really liked the unique front end of the GT. Now they look like a bunch of siblings of the GT500. On to 2014 1/2 ...
I gotta agree for now with the 2011-2012 comments. I will reserve my final opinion until it is completely unveiled. I was never a fan of the snout on the GT500. Looks like I might have to wait a little longer.
So even the V6 will get the GT500 splash guards. Anyone else notice that? And the tail lights are looking like a cross between the 05-09 and the 87-93 LX lights. I don't think it's right that Ford is using the GT500 nose for the V6 and GT(and Boss presumably) but we haven't seen the new GT500 so maybe they will do something different with that.
I don't get how people are "worried" by the 2013 refresh. If you don't like it be happy to keep your current ride. Isn't this only a two year run anyway? If i were a 2010-12 owner I would like the fact that it would make my car much more unique compared to the 2005-09 generation. I think the 2010-12 GT500 owners are getting hosed but then again Subaru did the same to the WRX and STI... Now that we can get an idea at the look of the car I'm interested in what is happening under the hood of these refreshed Mustangs!
