'13-14 Cluster into '10-12 car (with TrackApps) retrofit
#1422
Hey guys, first post and I have to say this thread is awesome. Props to all of you on your hard work. I have a question on the GT500 Speedo. I have a 2013 GT500 speedo. Is it possible to put it in my 2011 GT500? What else would I need other than a VCM II? Thanks for the help and I hope I don't throw the thread off.

I think you need the following:
The 2013 ABS module for track Apps
The modified cruise switch
The black box for gauges (not too sure about this) worth a try
The VCM clone
I am pretty sure, flashing your PCM to a 2013 will cause issues:
Different cams
Larger SC
More displacement
So you are basically in the same boat as I am ..

I'm not worried about the 2013 SC or cams as I already run these on my 2011 GT500 thanks to having my car retuned by Lund Racing. Where can I buy the black box, modified cruise control switch and vcm clone? Thanks.

Well, here is the thing: you definitely need the switch, however if you manage to flash your PCM to 2013, you don't need the black box and no need to modify the cruise control.
Switch P/N and wires are in the other thread on page 1.
If you need the black box PM zeroaviation.

I can give a little more direction once this is known.
Also, where are you from?

Ok here is the plan. I made myself familiar with the wire changes for the switch.
As I have to swap the dash harness anyways for the Nav, I will use my old harness as the donor for the pins. Also I can tape the new wires where they belong. I will get the correct mileage programmed I the meantime to the GT500 cluster.
Matt, I will have a chat with you sometimes I the near future about the black box I got from Dan.
Stay tuned, but I guess it will take some more time, before this project will be completed.

Lex, looks good. I would've gotten that but early on I thought it may have been too different to work since the GT500 was a different engine and maybe computer, I wasn't sure.
But have you driven around? Is the boost gauge functional? The GT's don't have MAP sensors. So if it works in your car there must be an "inferred" Map reading derived from calculated load possibley.
I'm pretty sure the GT500's have map sensors....If I never get mycolor and get bored down the road I may try this cluster lol...I like how the redline matches what I run in my GT as opposed to the 7500rpm redline that's in my Boss cluster. I know the GT500 cluster has nice colors...My friend has one...And the 220 speedo is nasty

No, I haven't driven around. Just wiring up the switch. Will do PATS and an ABS module try later today. The gauges are not functional, except oil pressure and voltage. That's what the black box is for. Feed AFR, Boost and IAT. 2010's don't have wideband O2's either.
I will update later after getting everything installed (except black box)

I'm curious because I still don't see what the black box can do for the boost since the car doesn't have a MAP sensor unless it's able to calculate inferred MAP. But I'm doubting that because that's not even a PID or a loggable reading in live link.

I haven't had the car started yet and the old ABS module is still in there. That is now next: PATS and maybe ABS module
