Yes. Yes it is.

I've been thinking about these for a while:
http://www.valentine1.com/
http://www.escortradar.com/9500i.htm

More car enthusiasts seem to own the V1. And what I've read, its pretty **** good. On top of that, you can send your old one in and upgrade it as the technology improves. Versus having to buy a whole new one from other brands.

Sounds good Ghost! I might need to invest in one of those after I get my new GT in a month or two!

Hey, I need your advise guys. From what I've been reading, it looks like Ford has started painting the 18 inch fan blade wheels that I ordered black for 08. Not what I was expecting at all!

The question is, do you guys think that will look good with Dark Candy Apple red, or should I try to change that back to the regular silver painted wheels that the GT comes with now?

Here's some pics of the both the black fan blades, and the Candy Apple red GT that I have on order......

Here's the tread that talks about it with more pics......

Nothing works against us!!

Either of the top ones will be decent until you get hit with laser. The V1 costs more but, is upgradeable. A friend of mine has the laser diffuser system on his car as well as the Passport 8500 radar detector.

Falchion, I actually like the new fanblades with the paint. Isn't it a kind of dark gray paint. I didn't think they were black althopugh that would probably look okay too. GUess I'll have to make a trip to Texas Motors now.

That laser diffuser is like another $400+. Yeesh. Nothing really works well against laser, except the car ahead of you. But with laser, from what I understand, you can't shoot it through the windsheild. So the officer actually has to get out of the car. Also, can't be fired while moving, and has a shorter range than radar. It ain't the magic bullet yet.

Dunno what to think on your rims. I, too, kinda like the color on the rims, but dunno how it'd match to your red. Maybe ask for a photoshop from the artists on this site?

Thanks guys!

I did see one pic where the fan blades were painted more of a dark grey instead of black. Maybe I'll call my sales guy and see what he can suggest?

Maybe they would look OK, I'm just not sure!

Errr! Ford! Errr!

Well, I found another close up pic of the new Fan Blades and they do look more grey then black. So maybe they would be OK? Here's a link, what do you guys think?

Oh, and I got my CAI yesterday. It looks real nice!

The V1 is good...
The Passport 9500i and Bel Sti are superior.
Google "radar detector reviews".
Valentine 1 is always a step behind the police technology and they are REALLY good at detecting: automatic doors, garage door openers, other radar detectors.... I had a V1 3 yrs ago and sold it on e-bay. It went off so often I started to ignore it.
Also, you can search for "Radar Roy" and read his reviews. He's a retired State Trooper who makes his living selling radar detectors.

Thanks for "links". Ya...I've read lots of review on radar detectors and even made/watched polls of what people thought was the best and who owned what.

Not an easy decision, that's for sure when you're looking to spend $400.

Which radar detector do you like best Tread?

I got a couple of calls from my sales guy, and he said that the HID's have been added to my order. But since the 08 fan blade wheels are coming in with the grey/black paint I had him take them off my order.

I saw that you can order them after market with the silver fan blades. So, maybe I'll go down to Discount tire and have them order them. That's what I did on the 05 V6 that I have now, and that worked pretty well.

Or maybe I'll just keep the stock tires/wheels that it comes with.......

Yeah, well they're silver painted. Should be pretty good. How do you like the stock tires Ghost? Or did you replace them?

Got a call from Reid today, they took the fan blades off my order and added the HID's. So, it wasn't too late to change it after all. I should be good to go now!

I like the ones that I can see from behind the car. That way I can see it all lit up from my radar on max power!

May I attempt to answer???

"It is not illegal to own a radar DETECTOR in TX but don't think of asking for a warning if you are using one and you get pulled over."

How far off am I from your answer?

Well, one of my best friends (since childhood) is a Sheriff Deputy for Shelby County. (The County Memphis, TN is in)
He point blank told me that he hates issuing tickets and will warn for anything other than school zone and excessive speed/ reckless driving. But, if he pulls someone over who is using a radar detector, he'll ticket them; no matter what. He calls them ******* awards.

I've never gotten a warning with or without one in my car. And I'm always nice. The whole turn off car, interior lights on (if night), hands on steering wheel...the whole bit. I've never even gotten miles shaved off. Y'all never give me any slack! So I might was well have a fighting chance of knowing where you are.

Nothing illegal about a radar/laser detector here in Texas. They are illegal in a few states though. A Radar Jammer is illegal though. If you get me to pull you over for speeding it's because you were driving stupid, ie; all over the road passing cars or passing me. I usually just let you cool your jets on the side of the road for a while. I've written two speeding tickets in 13 years. One was ordered by my supervisor. The other was an 18yr old who passed me on the freeway doing about 130mph as I was getting on the freeway. He hit his brakes then kept going. I had to do 140mph to catch him and then he tried to tell me he never saw me so I stroked him a nugget for 120mph since he lied and I knew for a fact he saw me.

Ghost- you just look too much like a criminal to get away!
J/k man. You must be really unlucky.

A radar jammer is the thing to have! That would be cool!

Only 2 tickets in 13 years? That's not many!

Many give one to Ghost?

LOL! Ya...I must have shifty eyes! LEO, luv y'all to death for what you do, but I loathe y'all behind a radar. To me, its about revenue and not safety.

Although its legal for you to receive anything broadcast over the air, its illegal to broadcast over the air without a license from the FCC. There's only a few "public" frequencies out there, like CB and FRS on "walkie talkies". That's why radar detectors (receivers) are legal and radar jammers (broadcasters) are illegal. Since laser is not apart of FCC frequencies, laser "jammers" are currently legal.
