2004 models were not affected !
I knew that when I ran it !

But I had the VIN !

So I ran it anyway !

I also ran my '06 Tundra on a different site !

It was clear too !

I also ran the girlfriend's '03 Subaru !

It was clear too !

I may have overdone the above post a bit, especially with the exclamation points, lol !

My car is on the list. I called my dealer and made an appointment to have it done next week. They said I am the first customer calling about this recall. I also asked them to make sure the part was in stock when I dropped the car off. The parts guy said the air bag inflator lists for just $35, so I guess we won't be getting a new pony horn button. Mine is showing that corrosion crap too.

Has anyone here had this recall performed yet? How long does it take...etc?

I brought my car in on the 22nd? Now dealer's saying MAYBE by the end of this week, probably next. Obviously a lot of people going in for the recalls and the modules appear to be on back-order.

Will both of you PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime numbers?

Still no letter, but there was a big exclamation mark on the site for my vin. My ols service advisor no longer works at the Dealer I use, and she went to another Dealer that I will not even look at, let alone walk on. Sigh. I hope they don't jack with the ECM, cuz I run a tune.

Thanks Deysha, I got a call from Allison the other day and she was able to give me some details. She said the dealer ordered the part back when I originally brought it in, but because it's a HAZMAT item (you know, being a small nitrogen bomb and all), it takes quite a bit of paperwork to get out of the warehouse in TN. She said the case has been escalated, but there's not too much you can do w/ HAZMAT stuff. 2 weeks for me

The replacement air bag for my '06 took about two weeks (roughly) from the time I placed the call to a local Ford dealer, until I received a call from their service department to let me know the part had arrived.

I had my Takata exploding air bag replaced on my '06 yesterday. I was first in line at the service bay when the dealership opened--whole process took a little under an hour. Replacement went smooth and visually is unnoticeable.

Relatively painless.

I took my car to the dealer yesterday as instructed. Waiting for the part to come in now.
