I recently had the conversion done a few weeks ago. I was putting in a radio this weekend so I disconnected the battery and after I reconnected the "miles to empty" reading is all wrong. I have a full tank and it says I only have 49 miles to empty. Anyone know how to reset this on the mycolor cluster?

This may sound strange, but did you try putting in more gas to see if maybe it'll trip something to correct the MTE?

Yep, that was the first thing I tried. I may have figured it out though. I went throught and zeroed out the average speed and mpg and it changed the MTE. I'll bet as the car learns how I drive it will go back to normal. I guess we'll see.

After 244 post I still have questions. I bought a used cluster off E-Bay it has 19,000 miles. Our car has about 22,000, will this cause problems with Ford for warranty? Both of the cars are the same 6 cyl with auto trans. Does the cluster contain the VIN of the donor car? Will Ford know that the cluster has been changed? To change the cluster will the airbags need to be deactivated? does the car retain the information about wheel tire size for the speedometer, or the cluster, if the other car had 17's (our's has 16's) will the speedo be off? sorry for all the questions

The cluster you purchased needs to be set up for your car at a speedometer shop. I'm sure your dealer can send it out somewhere to be configured, or can tell you where to bring it to have it done. Your vin number and mileage need to be programmed into it.

I saw that on ebay...was that the one you got for $39.00? Pretty good deal if you got it for that.

Yep that was probably it, $39.97. Found it a couple hours before it ended. Put a high bid of $75.99 and waited to be outbid. Was a little worried the picture was real bad, looked real dirty and used. Last couple minutes were tense but no other bidders. The yard this was out of is about 175 miles away. paid for it Saturday night arrived Wednesday afternoon in great shape looking brand new. I figured at that price I couldn't loose.

That's a great price. I ended up buying one off them for 99.00, it has 8k on the odometer. I had purchased one prior to this but it had many more miles so I sold that one. I just need to wait another 3900 miles and I'll put this cluster in.

Another satisfied V-6 owner with new Information Center and My Color (blue for me).
Kevin you are the MAN. I'm not sure how you get any work done coddling Newbie customers with tons of questions. The freebie's thrown in were great also. You're the only dealer that had the switch in stock.
I just removed the old standard panel, plugged in the new one and started enjoying. As soon as the new panels mileage matches the old one my friend at Ford said he'd reflash it to my car. Less then $85.00 total.

Everything is A-OK now. It just needed a couple tanks of gas to relearn the gas milage again. I WAS WORRIED OVER NOTHING. . .

Well with the switch, at 47.00, and the fact that it came out of a 2007 V6 which is what I have and it should be at 4200, which is 80 miles from where I am right now. I am hoping 0.00, as long as the car was a standard. If not then I haven't looked into the reprogram. But I don't think it will cost me that much.

I just put in the cluster and it works, however the car it came off of must have had ABS, because the ABS light came on, and the message center said check brakes. So after a couple of calls around I got a low of 86.00 and a high of 190.00 God these guys are rip off artists. It took me 10 mins to take the old one out and put the new one in, and thats with trying to find a dropped screw. Time to call the guy I bought it from and see if he can help me out. When I bought the car he threw in the pony caps. I was really happy about that.

I believe All you can Do is Bite the Bullitt and Have a Dealer Download Old Cluster Info to Replacement Cluster the same as if you had Purchased a New one.

Good Luck!

Yeah, I got the switch in today, and wow the posters are great. I hooked it up and found out that the odo reads 13,000. So I would have to get it done anyways. I do love the message center and the colors.

You are the man.
