I am getting a few calls where dealers are telling people they can not get the Cluster because it's Backordered through Ford. Well you have to order it through the cluster center. If you print out my first post and take it to your dealer they should be able to help you easier.

Just a little additional info I stumbled across...
In removing the dash center trim in a newly delivered 05 Vert, I noticed the wiring for the ICP control switches is not installed anymore :notnice: :bang: ...This could put a kink in future MyColor retrofits, Any additional information or corrections to this information is welcome and appreciated.

Okay, I contaced my dealer via e-mail, and im hoping for there response on this, however I am highly scared about what they are going to say. Hopefully they will come through, but considering they didnt know what a temperature sensor for an overhead console from an explorer was, im a little nervous about this.

Hi All:

New to the club, in fact, this is my very first post.

Put me down as another sucessful MyColor conversion. Just had it done at my dealer today and it works great.

Some notes:

-KC made it oooo so easy- Thanks KC! Without you, I doubt my dealer would have been able to do it.

-My 3/31/05 build date premium GT convertible (w/o IUP) had the connector for the buttons- YAY!

-Got the part number for the cluster from KC while ordering the selector switch, called my dealer's parts department and told them how to order the cluster from the parts "cluster center". They had it the next day! But- had to wait on the switch.

-Ordered the swtich from KC- it was on backorder, but KC managed to track some down and got them to me last week. (Along with some other upgrade goodies!)

-My dealer- Frontier Ford in San Jose, never heard of the conversion but with KCs help, I told them to download the old cluster, install the new one and upload to the new cluster. Volia- it works!

-The mileage programmed into the new cluster from the "cluster center" stays there- it does not transfer from the old cluster.

-Bring both keys to the dealer, they will need to program them into the new cluster. (I had to drive 20 miles back to the house to get the second set of keys.)

-Got the cluster for $224 (plus my old cluster)

-Install cost was $354.

-Total installed cost was $598.

Kinda pricey, but well worth it for the computer, extra gauges and myColor. I wouldn't have it any other way as I hate the IUP package on the dash, but like the other bits- which I now have!

Thanks again KC!

-Ed

From the service departments view...
Because of Ford's inability to standardize the PATS/Securilok systems we always request customers bring all of their keys with them when doing any cluster or PCM work-better safe than sorry!!

BTW PATS function is through the PCM in our vehicles.

Damm Good Idea! Love the TMS Think Tank! BTW Tiberius You might want to peak behind the dash when doing Shaker RnR's to see if anymore cars are Missing The Message Center Plug! It would be appreciated!

Thanks

I had MyColor successfully installed yesterday also! Thanks Kevin for all your help on the phone and advice. I don't know if my shop in San Diego called you or not, but the install seemed to go smoothly. My dealer did not ask about the 2nd key.

Just wanted to say how cool the MyColor is and Thanks Kevin!

On the "the cluster center programs the milage" issue:

Does this mean that I have to park my car at the dealer until they get the cluster in? Because I can't do that...I have to drive my car around.

Any help?

Which dealer have you been working through. I spoke with Wade at Sanderson (Parts dude) and he thinks their Custom shop might be able to do this. I'm about in the same boat as you... still trying to find a dealer willing to do the upgrade.
