Well KC I am sure you are sick of all these questions about the My Color upgrade. I have a bit of a unique situation. I have a 05 mustang V6 that was prety basic. It does have the trac control option. I managed to find a great deal at a local salvage yard for the complete inside of a 2005 mustang gt v8. I have all parts for the interior of the car. Dashboard, all wiring, stereo, instrument cluster, etc. I have stripped my car down to the metal and replaced everything besides the actual dash and wiring. I have read about 1000 posts on the retrofit of the My Color option. Everything works for me but the info center and the My Color. I have an extra port on the back of my dash control panel to plug the info center into. However there is no extra plug from the original wiring in my car. I am curious if there is anything I can pull off of the GT dashboard that I have sitting here, is there a wiring harness I can order, or am I just out of luck? I hope maybe you can make some sense from this. I know I can't

That appears to be an aftermarket add on. Likely for an alarm. You are going to have to follow it to it's end and disconnect. You may have to cut and resplice. Give me a call if you like.

I've been contemplating this retrofit for my '05 GT for a very long time now. Is there any reason why a cluster from an '06 would not work in an '05 provided it is the 6-gauge GT cluster?

I just picked up a complete 06 Saleen interior for my 05 GT. The saleen cluster is the IUP with My Color. Can a dealer reprogram them? I assume they are no different just with Saleen badging?

Can someone tell me what color are the lights in the instrument cluster of a GT if you do not have the interior upgrade/my color option.

IOW if I take the roush cluster out and put a GT cluster in, what color would the backlighting be?

Also if you know the answer to that on a GT 500 with no my color

Hey I'm new here but I've been reading about upgrading to MyColor across many different forums.

I have a 2006 V6 Mustang with the basic 4 Gauge cluster with 52K on it that has the IUP Harness behind the dummy switch.

My question is...

Can I get a used 2007 6 Gauge MyColor Cluster that also has 52K on it and a Message Center Switch and expect full functionality out of the MyColor, 6 Gauges and the Info Center?

Also where can I get the switch?

Here is where I Found the used Clusters...

Hey KC, I'm trying to get my Dealership to install this in my 2005 mustang I took it in today and I was pretty positive about it after reading everyone else's success, however the Service manager Rick called me back around 3:30pm and started asking about a Core Charge (somewhere around $300.00) from where they get the cluster from. I know I read that someone else had this same issue with their dealership and I was wondering whatever came of that is there anyway the core charge can be by passed, my four gauge cluster doesn't even work anymore so I don't know how fast I'm going, how much gas I have, or if my car is getting hot or cold. anyhelp you can provide would be great.

Maybe I should ask you what that is all about because I'm not sure I understand it completely, anyways any help you can give me would be great.

Sorry I have not been around to answer Questions. The core is refunded when the old cluster is returned. Regardless if it works or if it is a different Style.

Although I did not go through Kevin, I did this upgrade without having the dealer download the build data off the old failing cluster, works awesomely and only beeps when backing up or when I hit 75 MPH. Small cons for such a positive and super easy upgrade.

Okay, so I see several questions here but none of the questions pertain to my situation. I do not necessarily want to do the swap because of mycolor, but more for the oil pressure gauge. I know its not the most accurate thing in te world, but I do not want to clutter my interior with outboard gauges. I am going to putting a boost gauge in a gauge pod in one of my vents, but would like that to be my only outboard. So...here are my questions. I have a 2005 GT with the four gauge cluster. Can I use another years gauge cluster? I do have the dummy plug with the harness in the back of it. There are several used clusters on ebay for 120 to 175 bux and they come with warranty. My next question...is this plug and play, outside of having someone put the mileage in the replacement cluster. Reason I ask this is because there are so many mixed messages and it makes it sound so complicated. I do not have paskeys, I don't think they had them in 05. I want to do this this winter while I have it parked, amongst other things. All the threads I find are for v6 mustangs that did not have the same circumstances I have. Great write up, but like I said, this is for a 6 shooter and mine is an eight with all the goodies except the six gauge cluster.Thanx in advance
