The place I bought it from said I need to get it registered. I was like wtf register a bicycle? The city charges $5 for every bicycle sold.

I think I heard Portland is trying to do something like that to support all the bike paths. That really is a bicycle town. But the point of bike paths and bicycles (and mass transit) is to relieve the highway expense of individual cars. Saves millions but they never give that back.
They lie and they lie and they lie. Like that jackhole congressman in WI that says there's 'plenty of money' and the 'government and the people' have a right to tax all your money.

on another note .. i just got a dvd of the " lewis and clark expedition " .. excellant flick .. they were stomping all over your back yard charlie ... did you ever see them ? HA

Well they were quite a bit north of me along the Columbia Gorge to the Coast. And I do have some of the horses they saw with the Nez Perce.

The odd part is where I grew up in St. Louis County, there was L&C stuff all over the place. I lived about a mile from Hwy 40/L&C trail and often took that west to see my relatives on the Mo River along the MoPac and KATY lines. Seems like I must have followed them out here subconsciously.

I take it this is a replacement DVD for the defective one that only played audio?
