Hey Son of Growly, did you got your window sticker yet? If yes then I think the Blend number on the top is the build date for your Car. I ordered on 4/27 and my Blend date says 6/1 as the build date for me.

Would be awesome except for the fact that the EDD also got moved back at the same time from 6/22 to 7/2
It’s back to 6/22, DeviledBLUE. Please remember your ETA is always subject to change.

Since my Edd disappeared on cotus it hasn't been showing me a date yet. Fingers crossed.
Your ETA is still 6/13, s_dk91.

Just a question for everyone in this forum. I'm not very knowledgeable about the tech specs of cars and had this query. Do you still have to break into engines? I had heard with the newer cars you don't need to. I'm getting the Ecoboost premium.

How many miles to break in is so and what's the best way? Just keep speeds low and not much acceleration. Forgive my dumbness on this but any advice would be of great help.

I thought it was roughly 800-1000 miles on the GT. Ecoboost may be different. But i figure im not gonna risk racing it and just drive it calmly for the first 1000...just to make sure.

1000 goes by alot faster than youd think.

Great question. I was just told by service that the computer adapts to your driving style and drive it normally. I honestly don't know myself but maybe we could get clarification on this frome a Ford tech. By the way Kay did you get your car?

A Couple good reads on breaking the Engine in:

http://www.onlymustangfords.com/coyo...-break-in.html

http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10087
http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/show...t=16277&page=2

General jist:

1. Vary the RPM speeds...dont ride too long at the same RPM...too long being around 10 mins.
2. Dont let the Car Idle too much.
3. Give the car a wide open throttle after the first 100 miles, every so often.
4. Vary RPM Speeds until about 1000 miles.
5. Dont drive the car in Stop and go traffic, the first few hours after you leave the dealership.

My $11k snowmobile has an ECU monitored break-in period for the first couple hundred miles. Gotta imagine a $45k car would be able to do the same.

Hi Deep_S. No, no window sticker yet. I am about to make my weekly PM to Deysha - hope she has good, hell no, I hope she has GREAT news, chuckle. It has been in order processing status since May 14th now. Frustrating as I see that production shutdown looming.

I have started counting Mustangs. During the week on my daily commute I am averaging about 10 cars a day. Our place is on a country road which is the route to a local ferry which takes cars across the Ottawa river. This is a popular Sunday drive for everyone's favorite cruising machines - from 2 and 3 wheels, 4, 6 and more. Last Sunday and the Sunday before I must have seen 50 mustangs pass the house each day. Every one was bittersweet.

Ok, that's my rant for the day. Now get out there and drive those of you who have taken delivery.

Hey guys,

As per your owner’s manual on 3rd printing under the Driving Hints section on page 188:

BREAKING-IN
You need to break in new tires for
approximately 300 miles (480
kilometers). During this time, your vehicle
may exhibit some unusual driving
characteristics.
Avoid driving too fast during the first 1000
miles (1600 kilometers). Vary your speed
frequently and change up through the
gears early. Do not labor the engine.
Do not tow during the first 1000 miles
(1600 kilometers).

Hope this helps.
