Ring and pinion will be in between Thursday and Friday. It goes in on Monday for replacement. I am hoping yours is wrapped up with a clear diagnosis so I can make any necessary pointers to the technician.

me too...... So I talked to them a bit ago and they said the ring gear had chatter marks on it. That can cause all kinds of thing but the question is how did they get there??????????? I hope he wrote down all specs for the setup as it was from the factory.

good question. I was told the parts were there Monday and today I was told the rear end was fully ripped down. I think the guys has a couple different jobs going and I am starting to fear mine is becoming a back burner issue for them......... I could be wrong I am just shocked it is not done if the parts ere there Monday. I can rebuild an 8.8 in my garage with a jack and jack stands in about 4 hours. They have a full shop with specialty tools and a lift so I wouldnt think even with taking your time and doing all the measurements before dis-assembly it would take more than 6 or 8 at the most.

Golden Circle said they would need it for 2-3 days, so I think it is just the dealer business model.

Well still nothing. My car has now been at this dealer for 10 days and that is on top of the 15 she spent at the last dealer. T -5 days I guess. I hope they fix it right and all I know is ths better be the quietest set of gears in history.

My parts arrived today. I take it in on Monday, mostly to see a resolution on yours first... lol

I had to have a heart to heart with the service adviser a couple of Friday's ago. I told him that if my car was going to be at the dealer another night, I expected a phone call to tell me why, and what had been done. This was at the end of that week where it sat there and had literally NOTHING done to it, to include zero outgoing Hotline requests.

He has missed only one day since.

I'm trying to be nice Mike at the dealer acts like a nice guy and I dont want to push so that I have one good dealer I can deal with if I have other issues but I just cannot see why it would take so long to get it together..................

now they are saying the engineer wants to come in and look at the backlash setting and I more than likely wont see it this week. I am starting to think I bought them a vehicle to train their techs on rather than a car for me to drive. Monday will be 30 days out of use so if its not right I at least have met every aspect required for a lemon law case. Over 3 trips to the dealer and over 30 days out of use in the first year.

Why do they want an engineer to look at the lash? I don't understand?

In the lash settings? Could is simply be poor settings from the factory? Or are they suspecting something else?

No idea I lean towards poor factory setup I bet factory lash was off due to incorrect shimming I bet it was About . 007 clearance that is about how far off you soul be if you used whims for 331 gears on a set of 373s
