Thanks Ron!
Will be sure to pick one up at Autozone.
Waiting on a good deal on a DNX890HD - although it appears a lot of the on-line reviews are not favorable on the 890 and even 990.

Also, a lot of people complained about the screen being too bright at night...it's not in the manual, but there's a back door feature that allows you to dim the night screen much more...do a google search and you'll find a YouTube video by Dimer. It's a simple process and he does a good job of explaining how to perform the function.
I'll let you know if I run into any other problems.

The 890 does have a lot of features and I may not use all of them, but it's nice to play around with the unit to see what it offers...it can be overwhelming.

I have had no issues with my 890 thus far. It hasn't locked up and all the features seem to work just as advertised. I am a gadget guy and love all the features the 890 offers. I would buy this again, no question.
Like 14rs3roush said, just make sure you have the newest software on the unit.

More info
That isn't really the issue - the DDX370 will work with Idata and I'd assume will have the digital gauges. However, it might not be easier to use and it doesn't have the separate Sirius port, so you would have to skip Sirius or use a PnP unit like the XM Onyx.

Yes...I saw many of the reviews, but I think several of those reviews were from when the unit first came out last spring/early summer...recommend you ensure your HU is updated with latest firmware as soon as you power it up. The latest firmware speeds up the unit and fixes some of the Nav quirks.

I updated my DNX890HD boot screen using this video, the same button combo might work with the 770.

If you'd like to change the boot screen here is what you need to do:
Step one:
USB with Fat32 format
Set your input on your iPod to AN-IN2
Create your image - Pixel Size should be 800 * 480 / Save as 16 bit Full Color BMP and the setting of RGB of R5,G6,B5 <-- important
Put your image on your USB drive and plug it into the iPod connection
Step two:
Press and hold (do not let go!!) Volume Down + Power
Press the red triangle (with a pen - your finger will not work) and release (still holding onto Volume Down + Power)
Wait for the device to boot completely and do not let go until the buttons illuminate.
Step three:
Select OEM Image
Select the image you have on your USB key*

Thanks!!!
I don't see a way to embed video on the forum (lookee there - it did it automagically), but why make everyone search (and technically, it's not a video by dimer - its a video by f14av8r with dimmer misspelled as Dimer in the title):
