Yes .. he needs to use a 2013/14 PCM code and his ORIGINAL VIN .. if ABS VIN doesn't match PCM VIN he will get a software mismatch and all his ABS light will illuminate.

Track-Apps will still work though.

dmhines,

did you remember what Jim did exactly to recover his ABS module, after the 2012 PMI?

Thanks,

Alex

I'm sure he will chime in ..

But as far as I know .. Dealer messed up his 2013 with a 2012 PMI. So he put his 2012 back in to get rid of the errors.

Once he bought the VCM he put the 2013 Back in and I walked him through the PMI procedure and it worked. Actually I think that is also when he flashed his 2012 PCM to a 2013 and got everything else working too.

I just worked with BES remotely. The module is stuck in SBootloader and will not take programming (even through special functions). With that said, no form of PMI will work since its not the PBootloader. I'm a little surprised it got this far.

He is going to ship it my way so I can bench program it (providing there is nothing wrong with the module itself).

Should know more by tomorrow.

Thanks to all of you guys for the help. I'm about to ship my 2013 ABS module to Matt to see what is up with it. Lex was kind enough to send me his ABS module since he can't use it right now. I did try disconnecting the ABS module, but it didn't work at all. Oh well, I guess stuff just happens. I put the old ABS back in and there are no trouble code and the track apps are still there and gauges are still good to go, thanks to the BB from Matt. Although my red dot is stuck in the top left corner.... Lol

What do you mean track apps still there? You mean the menu selections are there?

Yeah all the menu options for the cluster are there to include Tack Apps, I can manipulate them, but they cancel after I initiate them. I have the red dot, but it's stuck in the upper left corner and doesn't move. I wounder if I should calibrate the abs and see if it does anything even though I know it's probably not going to work.

Lots of action while I'm away. I'm still in the mountains and will be back Monday.

But yes, I was able to simply do a Pmi on my abs module with Dan walking me through it. I also programmed the pcm at that time.

I can live with that... just wanted to see if yours behaves the same.

Just wanted to let you know that mine is the same and I also very rarely use the cruise function anyways. I will install your abs module tomorrow as the mail shows up late and I have school tonight. Hopefully I get it right this time, but I feel much better about what I need to do....

Keep in mind that with the modified cruise button the illumination does not work on the new cluster. Unfortunately the only way for the illumination to work is with a flashed PCM.

Since I have a 2012, is this pretty much what I need?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2011-2014-Mustang-5-0-GT-Abs-Module-Controller-System-Anti-Lock-Brakes-Track-pac-/151285786090?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item233955e5ea&vxp=mtr
Do I really have to take the brake lines off in order to install this thing? I'd really have to bleed the whole brake system just for this lol.

No you don't. The module attaches itself to the abs unit (the black piece with the female port on it that you can see in the picture on that ebay unit). You don't need the rest of that unit (silver part with brake line ports). You remove the 4 screws around it and you simply insert the new 2013 module into your abss unit and secure it with the 4 bolts. Reinstall the harness and your done. There is no need to bleed anything. 2013 ABS module part number - DR3Z 2C219 A
Should only be about $185 new from tousley ford.

Btw, my write up is almost all done. I need to tweak it a little, but it's done. It will cover the whole install with picture, required tools, and equipment in order to complete the install. I'll try to post it by tomorrow evening.

Ok cool good to know!

Is Tousley the best place to order the cluster from? I'm really nervous about eating the $300 core charge when I send them back my cluster.

*edit* Also, is this the right part number for the Headlight Bezel that removes the buttons that I would have on mine? AR3Z-7804338-FA

What Cluster are you planning on getting, BOSS? They'll set the mileage for you to so that's something to think about, cause a used one is cheaper, but you have to send it off to have the mileage set which is an $85 charge plus shipping. As far as ordering a new one goes I'm not sure, but I use them for everything I have ever bought for my car, I think they have great prices. The core charge on a 2013 GT500 cluster was $500 so I found a used one for $430 shipped and jumped on it. Do you have a VCM II or do you plan on having the dealer do your PATS reset and PMI for you? I recommend buying a VCM II from Aliexpress. Feel free to PM me with any questions and I'll let you know when I post the write up that will walk you through the whole install from start to finish with pictures, a child could do it. Did you get a black box from Matt to make the gauges work and modified cruise control switch?
