For those waiting on me to solve the issue with the 2011/12 automatic cars - the shifter hasn't arrived yet. Called the wrecker, and they forgot to ship it. Hopefully here by the end of the week.

Must have been AJP... i don't have them. I only have a 2012 Boss Cluster in kph leftover. I might sell that to Europe, though

Canada and Mexico use km/h as well. You wouldn't have a hard time selling it to a Canadian doing this mod. I was looking long and hard for a metric face for a while.

I think the US is the only country that still uses MPH?

So when you enabled the track key feature, did you get the lopey idle with it or any of the other features???

I enabled Track Key Capability in the Instrument Cluster.

There are 2 parts to Track Key

1) Marry the Track key to the Cluster
2) Load the special Calibration into the PCM.

I did not do either of those since I don't have a Track Key. I'm pretty sure all I did was make my Cluster able to recognize a Track Key. The reason this is significant is because another forum member was under the impression it was necessary to purchase a new late 2014 Cluster to be able to support track key. Not sure if that is 100% accurate.

This requires OASIS.

Actually .. if you look at the Dealer Install Document ... even #1 requires PTS ...

Is OASIS same thing as PTS ???

Nope. the UK actually does it, too.

Well it is a 2012 Boss cluster, so no LCD.

This states that 2013 cars can use the track key. But only manuals.

Did you click the link?? Sends you to the PROCAL tuner ... not a track key. The stupid thing about that is it defeats the purpose of a track key .. its just a Tune at that point.

The various Trackey features are controlled through your instrument cluster. To make this work on all 2013-2014 Mustang GT manual transmission cars, you will not be receiving keys. The trackey software will always be in the PCM and will always be working regardless of the key you are using. The 2013 and early 2014 cars have instrument clusters that are not compatible with the Trackey switching so Ford Racing did a workaround using the Procal tool.

Dan, it looks like it does use the key. And from this, the key unlocks the tune if the description below is to be believed.

I am interested. Having stock and a tune? Cool.

We will send the Track Key, software license form, and dealer installation paperwork to you
Take your 2014 Mustang GT Manual Transmission car, both keys, and the Track Key flash paperwork to your preferred Ford or Lincoln dealer. You do not have to take it to the dealer that sold you the car. Any Ford or Lincoln dealer can complete the installation.
Track Key has been designed to optimize your 2014 Mustang GT Manual Transmission car for track use and uses many of the same software algorithms and features employed in some of our Ford Racing turn-key race cars, such as the Boss 302R, Boss 302S, and Cobra Jet. In addition, Track Key also allows you to maintain the smooth driveability of the production car just by switching ignition keys.

Whenever the Track Key is used to start the vehicle, many engine control characteristics are changed to be more suitable for track use. These include:

Twin Independent Variable Cam Timing (TiVCT)
Engine braking
Ignition timing
Wide-Open Throttle fueling
Accelerator pedal map
Idle speed
Throttle response
In addition, the following Ford Racing unique features are added to the vehicle abilities when the Track Key is used:

Driver adjustable Launch Control, or "2-step engine speed limiting"
Driver adjustable Pit Lane Speed Control
Lopey idle (idle is as lopey as possible while still being 50 state emissions legal)
Its simple: You hold two keys: Either will start your 2014 Mustang GT. Slide the first one into the lock cylinder, give it a twist and youre treated to your stock driving setup. Or choose the Track Key and you have a track-ready car.
"From an engine management standpoint, Ford Racing has done just about everything possible to give Track Key users a full race car experience," explains Jeff Seaman, Mustang powertrain engineer. "Its not intended for use on the street for example, the deceleration is set up to preserve the brakes, and the throttle response is very aggressive. A skilled driver on a closed course will really appreciate the benefits."

As part of the Track Key software package, Ford engineers also devised a launch control feature similar to that used on the Cobra Jet race car. Using a combination of steering wheel buttons, drivers can set the tachometer needle to a desired launch rpm. Floor the throttle and the engine will rev to the preset rpm until the clutch is released, helping aid acceleration and vehicle control from a standing start.

That entire thing you posted is for the 2014 ... You don't get a special key with the 2013 early 2014 ... its always on once you load the tune.

Just got off the phone with Ford Racing. The cars built before the 2013 date that they posted do not use the key as Dan said, while the cars after do use the key.

But the guy did say that cars that don't use the key can still flip back and forth between the stock tune and the new tune on the cluster itself. He didn't tell me under what menu or anything else, though. Not entirely sure he knew the ins and outs of this though ...
