Put my old cluster back in, (flashes like crazy of course) program PATS (same procedure) car starts.
I am wondering what needs to be done tough, to get that cluster running?

You must reset the PCM before the car will start. It does the final "link" between the PATS module in the cluster and the PCM.

The option is only avaliable after you have been granted security access. You do not have to redo the entire procedure.

I dont recal right off the top of my head. Its right after you get security access and before you program keys. Its in the first menu.

Maybe post up a screenie?

yeah, the point would be a marketable program that many Mustang owners would like to purchase and load.... NOT just the conversion crowd. You would have quite a bit more prospective customers than say a RAXIOM dash kit.... and that is in the market at 700 bucks and sells. Think of all the premium equipped track pack cars that are on the market that would jump at a tool that allows you to modify the existing screens.... digital speedo, multiple smaller gauges at one time, tpms screen, colors, custom logo, etc.

I have zero automotive programming experience, however spent quite a bit of time in a former life programming custom universal remotes and adjusting screens.... the higher end remotes all had interface programs typically windows based that allowed modification of how the screens interact and what content they contain. In a perfect world getting ahold of the software the someone wrote to make this track pack screen sequences would allow the same control...

I doubt anyone has access to the programing software. I assume some engineer had a rudimentary interface in the design phase that allowed them to tweak and change the screens, and now its just preloaded. But again this could be a marketable product that has legs..... every track pack car owner could plug in and load a custom setup adjusting the screens to his liking. That would be very marketable in the couple hundred dollar range.

ALL on this thread who has done the conversion and HAS a VCM. Would anyone be willing to post me their old 10-12 Cluster for testing some ideas?

I wish someone was closer who has done the conversion.

I have the software to do programming... However, you are correct about the source. (Interface code).

Maybe one of us could get Bruno Lombard to send it to us. Anyone know him?

Zero,

if i get my new cluster working i can surely send you my old one (2010 Premium cluster with mycolor). Hopefully your reset option will do the trick. I know more tonight.

Lex .. I haven't messed with the PATS stuff yet .. but I thought it was a two part process. You need to do a PMI or PATS Relearn process to sync the Cluster with the PCM. Once that is done then you program the keys. Or is all of that done in one step? Like I said .. I haven't messed with that stuff yet.

PATS is done first with the cluster. Then the Cluster and PCM are "linked" via a reset command.

That's the PATS menu screenshot. Which one is the menu for resetting the PCM?
parameter Reset?

And i tried my wife's Edge. Same issue when selecting Module Programming: Selection not available..

But i found the fix: If you are running Windows 7, you need to run that little tool as Administrator... Now it works

Thanks,

Pretty sure you need parameter reset. That will do a full relearn.

Worked !!! Jippieh:

Here are the steps:

1. Erase Keys
2. Parameter Reset

Well, between 1 and 2 you have to re-enter the PATS so another 10 minutes ...

Zero, send me a PM with your shipping address for the old cluster

Ok..interesting find:

After download the as-build, i have the ambient lightning color selection back in the cluster (including the my color selection for ambient lightning) Steering feel disappeared (fine with me) but also the Oil Life indicator is gone ... I assume because the 2 different engines calculate it different?

I always used that one ... Maybe the GT500 cluster will solve that problem..

All is good now Still looking for some $$ to do the 2013 GT500 cluster with LCD and blackbox... will take some time, as i also want to finish the Navigation retrofit first...just waiting for the additional parts from Tousley.

And you have mycolor? Halo? You can change the halo and gauge colors independent of eachother?

Does the 2012 Boss cluster look like the 13' boss cluster?

WTF? This is pissing me off lol..I'm not understanding..

You should PM your vin, I'd like to try the as built for IPC for your car and see what that does in mine?

No mycolor in mine yet

I dont think he has mycolor for the cluster, but rather control over the ambient light.
