Correct. Ambient lightning, but I can't change the Boss Cluster color. No Halo,
no color change...but i knew this beforehand.... In the 4 years now, that i own this car i never changed the color on the cluster anyways. It was purple the whole time, including the ambient ... Now everything is ICE BLUE....

GT500 will also solve this problem... i need cash

That's next...

I was following this thread from the beginning. Until a couple of days ago, i didn't thought, that i can use a 2013 cluster, too. After getting the info from Zero on the black box, it makes it much more viable. The Boss cluster was in my closet for half a year, with this thread and all the information i finally was able to install it. Now, after the Navigation retrofit, the track apps cluster is the next project. I will get there...... just bought a house, had to pay some tax advance and now $$ is a little bit short...

Played around with the VCM II and IDS today on my truck. Went into the PATS and it looks pretty straight forward. One question, the module programming does not have a drop down or open. How do you open the module programming part of the software?

Highlight Module Programming and confirm with the little check mark on the lower right corner

So with so much going on in this thread with all the different combos of clusters/steering wheels to cars, has anyone thought about a summary post yet? Or are you guys still working out the kinks? Basically what do we know now??? As in for the more simple swaps like 14 base to 14 trackapps cluster swaps or 11/12 base to 11/12 premium gauges swaps??? Whats entailed? I know you guys are working on the more complicated swaps like the 11 base to 13 track apps gauges. But what can we put on paper now? Parts lists, procedures like when to install and when to head to the dealer? Thanks guys.

This is a great suggestion! We are still working on finalizing the process, and what is needed.

I do think we need to start a WIKI or something similar. However, if we hosted a wiki with all of this info, i'm not sure how TMS would feel about linking people away.

I'm open to suggestions.

Instead of that, how about a fresh thread here that can be stickied and locked? Basically start a new thread, and each post make a parts list and tutorial for the swap on that particular configuration of cluster/buttons and model year car and so on? This is a TMS home grown thread with all the work being done by TMS members. It should stay here and then get linked to from other forums if those allow. Great work BTW for you guys that are deep into this. I know I will be reaping the benefits.

I have just been waiting on our car. I have everything I should need to do a '13 Boss Track Apps Cluster install into a Base model '13 GT (Track Pack Car)
My son will be home with the car this Friday and we plan on the install this coming weekend. I will gopro the entire process and produce the vid down into a manageable length. We have the VCM II so this should be able to produce a "road map" for someone wanting to install a cluster upgrade into a base model mustang.

We are getting close to a full 2012 swap ... Just down to how to handle the PCM ... the choice being 2013 swap or flashing the 2011/12 PCM as a 2013 (not so easy) ... The PCM is necessary for full Cruise Control compatibilty with the cluster and steering controls. Which is a good thing if you ever want to trade or sell your car. It will also enable all the extra guages in the cluster without a need for an add-on device.

As of now Track-Apps is working 100%
Cluster is working 99% with add-on device (no Cruise Illumination)
Cruise is sort of working but need a resoldered/reengineered cruise control switch.

Once complete a full and probably very simple procedure will be posted.

Guys, let me know what you want to do about a thread. I can lock one or clean up this one. Whatever you prefer. Starting a wiki and linking is fine too. Shoot me a PM or post on here.

Let's wait until we have it totally figured out. Just got one step closer last night with Zero and the black box (if we continue that route).

Practiced with the VCMII doing some PMI programming in my F150 fx4. I programmed the rear end gears ratios for testing. This old laptop is going to be dedicated for the Mustang.

FYI .. the wireless USB port works on the clone. I got the $10 USB D-Link adapter today and the VCM shows up as a wireless device and displays its serial number. What I didn't realize is you need a second D-LINK USB dongle for your laptop so IDS can connect to the VCM. The primary wireless network is used to connect to internet and Ford. So I ordered another one ....

Dhines, I ordered two of them off ebay as well. I read an article about the VCM II and the wifi and it explained that you do need a separate dongle for the laptop.

So slowly sourcing the parts for the Track Apps cluster... 2013 ABS module off eBay ($100) and some small items... Now just need to pull the trigger on the cluster. I assume, I can put the ABS module in right away to see if it works in my 2010... However tracking shows itwill be in Monday next week, and I will be in Europe ... So I guess that has to wait until I am back..
Anybody has the part # for the 2013 headlight switch surround?

Thanks,
LEXiiON

I bought mine cheap off ebay ... just buy a base model 2010-2012 switch and swap your Foglight switch into the plain housing. I don't think you can buy just the housing ...

This is kinda pricey but I bought one of these and swapped my switch.
