Wonder what fenders are on there? Hope it fits better on your car Robbie and anyone else that bought it.

finally got my hood today..
it's been waiting at the cargo terminal here for 3 days!
can't wait to have it painted and installed
one thing i'm curious about is the vents.. they're just sitting there.. nothing to hold them down..
any thoughts?

How does it fit?
Interesting about the vents. You would think that they would snap in and out. I would consider PMing MellowYellow and asking him what he did or just ask Trufiber what their recommendation is.

Hey Louie,
Can you take one measurement? It's the minimum distance between the two vents (as shown in pic). I need to know that the original dimension GT500 stripes will fit between the vents.
Also, do you have any pics of the back of the hood and also the underside? Thanks!
Willie

And Shelby lowered the price from $1800 to about $1000. He can just buy the one from Shelby...Trufiber would be charging a similar price given the fact that they would be able to sell so few.

okay here's the low down.
the distance between the edges of the heat extractors is 49.5-50cm or around ~19.5"
my 10.5" stripes with 1.5" gap wont clear the heat extractors so i decided to make them a bit smaller by filling them with fiberglass and molding them onto the hood ( i didn't see the point of having them removable, or fit on by double sided tape )
the underside is beautiful.. it provides additional clearance inside the engine compartment by 2.75" up front, and 2.37" out back (by my crude measurements)
the only clearance issue i have is with the whipple air intake heat sheild.. i will need to shave off about 3/4" from the edge of it so it clears the ram air vent properly.
otherwise the whipple sits there with plenty of room around.. and the hood lined up with my fenders almost perfectly from the first time we bolted it on!
i'll leave you with some pics

Awsome Louie!!!! Thanks for the pics. This gives me a great idea how my car is going to look and how the hood is going to fit. Mine will be here Monday according to the tracking number. We have the same stripe dimension/color so I'll have to decide whether I want my stripes to go through the heat extractor vents or paint around them. Thanks again for the pics and measurements. I can't wait to see yours painted. The fit looks great. Let me know what fitment issues you encounter (if any) as you all fine tune the final fit before painting.

Yes Louie, thanks! Those vents are huge! What is directly below both? It looks like rain will pour right in.... And I'm kind of wondering how you took the shot of the Whipple pulley with the hood closed? You say there's significantly more clearance. With the GT500 hood, there's probably about 1/2-inch with the 3.375" pulley. So now, there's about 2-3/4" clearance?
Rob, I'd paint around the vents, just like the stock GT500 hood. I don't think it would look good if you painted "through" them.
