Also, theres a thread going around about the CDC relocation nozzles being... not so good. Do we have any word on if they've been improved?
Without re-reading all the posts in this thread, I thought there was a first run of 5 or 6 hoods and Scottie got one, Dave got a second and it looks like by the time I ordered mine, there might have been 4 or 5 ordered (depending on how many orders have posted here). So I thought I might have to wait and be one of the first 10 - which would be part of the next 5 built and I don't believe I've heard a firm date of when that will be. HaHa, I hope I'm all wet on my math and/or my thinking.

About the CDC nozzles, I got mine about a year ago when I bought the CDC hood scoop and I wasn't impressed, to say the least. The cost was imbedded with the scoop and in my mind it sucked. I've also heard there might have been some design improvement but even if there weren't, I haven't heard of any better alternative outside of building your own. So I'm going to continue to use my CDC nozzle - black electrical tape and all.

I thought the same thing about the hood but I've seen this GTS2 hood listed on a few sites already. I mean the price we're paying is about $85 less then the other i just thought/figured we'd be getting a nicer deal. Oh well, but I do think the hood is in full production.

Well, I guess i'll hvae to deal with those CDC nozzles when they get here...

Hey guys!
A little update about my hood. I picked it up from the shop that screwed me and took it to a much better shop last Thursday. The shop that screwed me didn't do anything to it except for shooting the underside. The painter said "I didn't know I was going to have to prep it! Gelcoat is ready to be painted already." I about sh#t myself when he said that. When I told him it needed to be prepped, he said that it would take about 5-8 hours to do so. DUH!!! There was no doubt as to what my next move was! The last thing I heard before leaving was "I want to get paid at least for the materials." I guess he meant the unopened/unused cans of paint. The new shop has done alot of custom work that is outstanding. I will be getting it back in a couple of days, and as promised, I will post pics immediately. Sorry for the delay, but I'm still recovering from the unwanted penetration I received from the first shop.

Thanks Richard, but I want to hold off until it's finished. Ed said he should be shooting it on Monday, so I'll be going back midweek. I'm definitely interested in that grille! PM me.

Boltzman - I'd go ahead and order.... I don't think it matters much about the first "5" anymore...

I ordered over the weekend - and was told this morning that the hood *may* be ready to ship on Oct 8 - but the committed date was likely Oct 15.

I believe I was told by the distributor that TF originally said that the hoods wouldn't be available until the end of October?!?!?!?!? There's some disconnect there (from being in on the first 5), I'd say

Squirters will be shipped separately...

Bill

Yeah, I ordered mine on Sunday and received an order confirmation from BMC this morning with a note that the hood will ship "within" two weeks but no solid date. My birthday is the 13th so maybe I'll get lucky! lol

I'm confused guys. Is the hood for the GT500 ready now or is it going to be after the first of the year? Also who is the distributor for the TruFiber hoods? Thanks for helping me out.

Yeah, I was also under the impression we'd have a "15%" discount. Where'd that go? I mean either way I ordered. But I'm still dissapointed...

JonCo,

I believe the original price was going to be around $600 - so the price of $500 represents a little over a 15% discount.

Sandyman,

We are talking about the GTS-2 hood - which we are told is shipping within two weeks. The GT500 hood, we are told, will not be out until after the first of the year...

No, it is not far fetched at all, except,
1)it is totally refundable
2) You knew all the details when you sent me your info and confirmed you were a definate
3)If you dont commit a little(your dep), how can you be counted in a group buy
So, i guess i dont understand why you are having a hard time understanding this...you will be the one benefiting from the group buy!

As far as the website goes, it has been updated for the GT 500 hoods.

Update:
I have been typing for an hour and just lost the whole post I was working on .
i do not have time to do it all over again.
Short and sweet version!
The site is totally set up for everyone now, options for everyones scenario has be covered, also GT 500 pre-order
http://www.bmcextremecustoms.com/mus..._discount.html

You can pick up this hood at trufiber in Cal, free shipping, or you can pick it up in NJ , free shipping
group buy will be a 1 month window, allowing anybody who wants any Trufiber hood in on our group buy, allowing them the same 15% discount that we are getting...this is good for us , as it will bring up our head count.
the Distributer(Bruno) told me that he has 5 orders so far:
jonco
bmac
redfire281
Danny
And a girl named Patricaia, ( Patricia, if you read this post, please PM me)
Here is an email Bruno sent me a little while ago
"
After the 5 GTS2 orders went through, there are only 3 more available. If anyone wants to order the GTS2, it must be done ASAP. Once the other 3 are gone, there will be a wait time of 4 to 6 weeks. Unfortunately with the NJ pick up, it seems that if all the hoods are sold, the NJ pickup option will need to wait for the next shipment. However, if anyone in NJ is unwilling to wait, we currently have GTS 1 hoods available to pick up in the NJ location.

Hopefully I was clear enough. Let me know if there are any questions.

Thanks,
Bruno Stoffel
BMC Extreme Customs Inc"

You better hurry up boltzman, I would not want you to missout and have to wait a little while...LOL

Dave, I'm sorry if I have offended you. I'm new here and its tight for me to afford this hood so its tough for me to give a deposit when I don't even know how much it will be in the end. I truly appreciate the work you have done for this. I will take a look at the site now that it has been updated for the GT500 hood. Thanks again Dave.

Thanks to Dave for contacting me and giving me the 411..Its much appreciated Now the wait begins

FEI, based on the expected MSRP range for the GT500 hood, the 15% discounted price range is $637.50 to $765.00 so budget $200 now and $565 (+ shipping) for the new year. Hopefully it'll be less than the estimated max...

If I were a Gt500 buyer,I would expect to pay 900 total(shipping around 150 and nozzles @ 50.00) I live on east coast. Figure around 350.00 for prep and paint, you are looking at a 1200~1300 mod
