It's pretty quiet here.... Do we have 10 people interested yet??

I'm still in for the first batch - I'll post pics and information for others...

Dave,

I won't be able to order until we have DEPOSITS from 10 people? is that correct?

Come on people - it looks like a SWEET hood!!!

Phil said he'd have more pictures of the hood beggining of September. I'm still anxious to see more. He said he'd get one mounted to give us a better idea. If I can just see an unpainted mounted hood I'm down for first batch.

Im pretty ready for a new hood. In other words. Im in.

ahhh hell lets do it... I thought there was only 5 available, but now you are saying 10? If so, count me in, I'm convinced, but I still would like to see pics of this painted (preferably in black with silver stripes)

Does this mean we just need 3 more before we can place our order???

ok sorry, just read the post about needing 10 people to get a price of $500. I have a few questions before I give up my CC for a deposit (sorry if these are dumb questions):

#1 - Does this hood generate additional air pressure through my CAI, and thus will require Brent to retune my config? If so, increase HP?

#2 - Will I need additional hood supports for this hood, or will OEM supports suffice?

#3 - Any risk of hydrolock with water entering the CAI chamber?

#4 - Will this fit a GT500 front fascia? I don't have it yet but would like to keep my options open!!

Thanks guys... I'm 99% sure I'm in but want to cross all my t's and dot all my i's.

I emailed Phil today. He referred me to Bruno (BMC Performance) in NJ.
Heres the scoop.
1.The group buy for 5 was 525.00 but Dave thought we could get 10 for 500.00.(I agree)
2. he will discount CDC's wiper nozzles to 50.00 w/hood
3.Shipping will be between 110-150 depending on your zip(ship to body shop would be cheapest)
4. hood is functional
5. Trufiber recommends hood pins because they cater to racing crowd
6.BMC says they are not needed for daily driving
7. He is getting a hood on FRIDAY 14th and will have Phil post up pics ASAP(Unpainted I'm sure).
8. He was going to test hood struts but was not sure if they would be compatible yet.
9. He also said he would chime in on this thread sometime to make sure we get correct info
10. Dave is the go to guy(PM him w/ your name and number and email) I gave my name to Bruno to make sure that I was included for sure
11. Hood needs to be prepped for sure before painting.
Thats all I got for now..hope this helps

Larmo, this hood will NOTfit GT 500 facia, and there has been no problem with hydro lock with their other hoods which operate the same way for ram air.Not sure about the tune ! I had no plans of messing wkithg my tune at all...interesting!
Boltz...most of this has been covered, and your name is most definately on the list...lol.
I was told by both parties that struts would be fine, especially the ones that stay towards the back of the hood like MRT's.
I figured once we get ten people , then go nuts with emails and arrangements...why bother now.
Hood pins are not required..( but I'm thinking about them)!
BMC will be the distributer.
Not thought I can..we are getting it for 500 each!
Cool about the squirter development, my last conversation with him ended on that note, I told him about how CDC does theirs and suggested they offer something to their customers, he promised he would pursue it, so good job on their part!!
Boltz, try and have a little patience with this hood thing, if it was meant to be it will happen, sometimes when you rush things, BAD things happen!
Please dont take this the wrong way, I mean no harm.
I particularly dont hate the stock hood and have no problem waiting a bit, especially being that we probably wont be putting these hoods on our cars till late fall at best...my car does not get driven after the first snow anyway, so first thing in the spring would not bother me at all...I would much rather have a hood with no issues and a happy smile on my face.

If this hood will absolutely not fit the GT500 fascia then I'm afraid I am out of this group buy. I really love this hood as I thought it would somewhat emulate the KR hood for my GT500 front fascia, and at a discounted price. Apparently it won't fit. Can you guys point me in the right direction for a similar hood that WILL fit my GT500 fascia?

I appreciate it and sorry for bailing on this.

Race car factory has one..Dave sorry I regurgitated some info..However aftersubscribing to a million hood threads ,I tend to forget what has been mentioned and I'm too lazy to read 5 pages worth all over again I have been extremely patient for 2 years now and those of us in warmer climates can drive year round..Sorry if I bothered you..I'll keep my mouth shut and let you take care of it

Hey Chuck ,
Dont worry about it at all, I totally understand. I have been right with you for the last 2 years. I also understand about the warmer climates, I'm just asking to have a little patience, it will all be worth it in the end! Look what happenened to the people who jumped all over the RK Sport GTR hood when it first came out a couple of years ago.
Also, if more than one person keeps bothering these people they will get sick of us and not be so cooperative, because things will get misquoted and misunderstood...HUMAN NATURE!
Thanks, Dave
