I just sent this to Blue Oval Industries.

Hello Blue Oval Industries,

I am interested in the 2005-2006 Mustang GT Eleanor style front grille BUT many people that I know on a very popular Mustang website forum have had a problem with the quality of this product. The bottom of the grille is very warped and some of the mounting tabs are even broken off upon receipt.

If you can inspect the grille and insure me that the issues that I just described are not present in the grille that you are selling I will purchase one. Please let me know.

Just finished installing my grille, overall the install was fairly easy. I have warping just like everyone else but it doesn't seem to bother me as much now that it's on. I couldn't get the wires to reach so I'm going to order the street scenes extender. If someone has got them to reach without and splicing let me know.

Edit: sorry for the dirty car, I need to wash it

I spliced the wiring with 18 gauge wire, some small wirenuts and electrical tape to keep everyting in place. Took about 15 minutes total.

Mine required no splicing at all. I unclipped two stays opn each side of the car for the wiring harness, they are still snug but they fit without issues. I also used two 1/8" x 2" x 10" aluminum strips, two C clamps, Visegrips, a torch and some cold water and the warp is gone. The fit from day one was great with the exception of the warpage on the new grille. Overall I love the new look. Just wish that it had come in without the warps in the first place.

Botlefedpony ,you did a superb fix on your grille and it really looks great on your stang, which is a most impressive looking beast. That certainly is the look we wanted when we ordered this grille . I wish I had your skill to remove the "wrinkles"in my grille because I really want that look. Good job!

Well, after all the talk and wondering, I just couldn't take it anymore. So I called the little woman and asked her to take a look at how severe the warp was ( if any ). I had hopes, but after hearing her description of what it looked like sitting on a flat surface ( dining room table ) I decided to follow suit and just sent my email to KSR also.

Seeing that there have been 10,491 views of this thread since January there is obviously a lot of interest in this product. The supplier ,KSR, has a gold mine here depending on how he treats those of us who received a second rate product .I hope Nelson Rogers does the right thing for us. To those of you who were able to make repairs that made the grille acceptable ,I applaud you,Good Job! I wish I had your skill and determination.

I removed the smoke covers for this shot, and I think it looks better that way. Opinions please?

Tks, Paul

I think it looks better without the smoked covers. I was going to order some for mine but I decided not to.

Gents,
I have been following this thread for months...I tried reading the last two weeks of posts..but I just wanted a quick recap. I went 50resto.com and they dont have this grille on their site anymore. What happened here? Did they sell a bad batch? Thanks for the update.
Irish

Irish , my understanding is that they have taken them off their site and returned them to the supplier, KSR, because they were poorly produced and the bottom lip was warped.Suddenly ,however , they have shown up on other sites like ebay ,blue oval industries and laurel mountain mustangs . If these all come from KSR, a manufacturer and distributor of mustang reproduction pieces, then they all are warped.
I would not purchase one without asking the seller if his are warped or not and if you can return it if you are not satisfied ,for a refund.
I have been told it would be 8-10 weeks before another shipment arrives and they can't be sure that these will be first class products either.
The grilles have a great look if you don't mind the wrinkles or think you are capable of repairing them as some forum members have done.Of course if you botch the job you will have lost whatever price you paid. My contention is that the should never have been sold to the public as advertised, which they are not!

I too just send an email to KSR. I told them that I am a part of a very large Mustang enthusiast website, and their product was bought by alot of us, only to have a bad quality problem. I asked him, what he plans on doing for us, since we bought the 1st batch, that was made poorly. I can't wait to see if I get any response within the next few day. As stated above, this guy has a goldmine, but if he "drops the ball" with his customers, he will get thrashed on this site. Only time will tell. Personally he should give all of us who got the 1st batch a new version once he gets them in the next few months for NO CHARGE. This would impress me.

Well, I put together what I felt was a very professional, polite, non whiney non b_itchy email to KSR and sent it over the weekend and received a response first thing this morning. I can't speak for everyone, and certainly can't speak for who we purchased them through. All I will say about the response is it is being addressed in a professional manor.
