That's a good tip about heating the bottom and not the top. I would have probably heated mine on the top too. BTW your car looks good and I don't see any waves.

Guess I am going to have to plan this activity for Tuesday when I get back from RTP. The grill is already installed, but has the waves. With all the success that has happened, it should be an easy fix (that assumes patience).

Thanks for the tip!

Well I took a better pic of the car today. Unfortunately the warp has started to come back a bit.

Is anyone experiencing more hood shaking with the new grill?

I've always had a lot of hood shaking so I haven't noticed a difference.

I had thought about keeping my modified grille, but now I'll have to really consider trading for one of the next batch.
I am not really impressed with my results anyway, heh.

Doug, they have been recalled. I am sure you can get a warped one if you really want one but I doubt you would be able to return it once they have fixed the problem. You will have to wait awhile before they fix it. Street Scene is also releasing their version soon which looks very close to this one.

There are still people selling them on ebay. Couple of them listed right now. They can be fixed if you just can't wait. Mine came out pretty good. I just wish I would have thought of the wood and heating the bottom before I had one side done.

Someone donate your grill to this man so he can get his car out the shop and get some cams in it already lol

lol just busting your chops there mr doug...I would think you could fix a warped one if you could get your hands on one.

With everyone working on their grilles, has anyone noticed theirs is loose? (stock or the new one)
I can push on mine and it has about a 1/2" of movement front to back. I removed the radiator cover to see if there was anything I could tighten up, but didn't find anything.

From KS Reproduction ***UPDATE***

We have tried a few different compounds of plastic and believe we have the winner. BUT,,,,we still need to tweak it a bit and run some small production lots to be sure the problem is resolved. I will keep you advised of the progress.

Also, I'm am in the process of building hard plastic fog lamp covers for GT's. The question is,,,,what color do you want?

I plan to build one color only,,,so let's hear what you think.

Have a safe and fun Holiday!!!

Great thanks for the updates!

As for the color it would be a toss up between smoke and yellow I believe.
