Center fog lights...

That's a VERY safe bet.

Ya know… over all the material is good. It's not flimsy at all. It’s OME to the tee. It would be a great piece. Quality control however is non-existent. For example, it’s packed in a thin layer of bubble wrap and put in a box.
Guys, this is not Butch’s fault… The “bad” is on the manufacturer. Big time.

On a side note... I also got some hood stuts in today. They are also poorly engineered and will take retro-fitting. Getting tired of this crap...

This thread was started on January 31st, 2006, 01:30 PM and the grille was then available to order. After all of this time it turns out to be a piece of poo. I'm not blaming the people selling the grille but the manufacturer is the pits!

Hey guys a little warning on dealing with UPS. They HATE paying claims. They have this rule that says the contents is supposed to be wrapped with at least 2 inches of protection for them to insure it.
They broke an $800 hydraulic cylinder where I work and refused to pay for it. They said since the box was just big enough for the cylinder to fit into there was no way there had been 2" of bubble wrap around it.

Why do people buy boost gauges when they don't have a SC? I do not get this.

Does not need to be the whole area at one time.I would say you need to do at least one side at a time......( from fog light to outer edge) any smaller than that I think it will be VERY hard to get it flat. And you just want the metal to be an inch or so wide. clamp it flush with the front lip of the grill and then heat behind the metal strip. that should put you pretty much right inder the honeycomb area.
I ended going "freehand", shaping with my gloved hand while heating. Then using the hose for cooling. That resin is much tougher stuff than I expected. Very slow to deform. I was probably not heating as much as you would be comfortable with Botlefed, but it worked.
Thanks again for the encouragement to even try.
Tonight or Saturday I will continue with the removal and replacement part of the project. Should be easy compared to the re-shaping part.

I will try to get some picts this weekend. The grill is in the spray booth as I type this. Hopefully I will have my emblems tomorrow when the big brown truck comes. Glad to hear it is working for some of you. And yes it does take some time to get it into shape. I have at least 4 hours into. And you are better off heating slowly and a little at a time. Its a little easier to control.

When mine arrived via UPS, the box was perfect. Perhaps the amount of damage is proportionateto to your distance from Newark, NJ where they are shipped from?

Well, mine arrived yesterday. Had the woman open it up and check it out for me. Exterior of the box was a little beat up. Inside was a cheaper box, inside that was the grill with one thin wrap of bubble wrap. Nothing broke ( that she could tell, hopefully she didn't miss anything ) but she did say that the tabs were poked through the bubble wrap and had also poked through the interior box in a couple of places. No idea about warpage. I couldn't describe it to her in a manor that she could tell. I guess I will find out in a week when I get home.
