Wow! that looks great, nice to know what size I'll be aiming for when I fry the factory treads off the rim!
Has anybody had any luck in getting some kind of credit for brand new factory tires when doing a switch?
If I can do that, I'll do it right away, if not, I'll just wear the factory rubber out first, I don't have another car to put them on.

Too bad :notnice: :notnice: we can't force Ford to do the right thing and put real tires on this baby.
Meanwhile my living room has 4 new pieces of furniture until I use these 'spares' on my 02 coup.

And while I'm complaining... The ridges on the sidewalls of the Pirellis look dirty all of the time too. :notnice: Hard to keep clean.

Brakes seem much improved.
Launch is awsome.
Turns without any hop or drift, none at all!
Much better straight line stability. I turn off the TCS but I have forgotten to do so a few times and the tires grip so well, I have not felt it kick in.
I have chirped the tires twice on quick acceleration when I shift to second.
As for keeping them clean. No ridges to hold dirt. Black Magic Tire Foam still has the sidewalls looking good after two days.

Your pushing it with 275's on a 8 inch rim. I would stick with the 255's

That's my car... color and wheels. Those tires look great. Can you possibly post some more pics at different angles... specifically from the front and rear showing the width of the tires? I am thinking about getting 255's or 275's all the way around ASAP.

but with the higher stock profile, the sidewalls will look buldged and will most likely tuck under badly in hard turns. I cant see any possible advantage to putting 275's on an undersized rim. 265 max, but even that is somewhat silly. Just get full wheels and tires and dodge doing it the cheap way.

275's are made to fit on a 7.5" to 9.5" width wheel. The stock GT wheels are 17"x8", so they should be fine. I have talked to a couple tire guys and they have all said it will work. If the 255's look noticeably wider than the stock 235's (38special- please post some pics showing the width) then I will be satisfied with 255's all around. I'm still upset this car didn't come on 255's... at least the GT. I'll never get over that one.

Will there be much bulge with 275's on 18x9's?

I talked to my dealer and two tire stores about take-off credit for the 235's. The dealer said he wouldn't consider it and the tire stores told me that 235-17 are an "odd-ball" size and they didn't want to keep them in stock.
So for now I had G-Force 255 50R's installed on the rear and kept the originals for spare front tires. They do look good even on just the rear!

It will still feel like you are on roller skates in the turn, until you pony up and put the meat on the front too. Less is not more. :nono:
