BFG G Force All Season 255/50/R17
Wow! that looks great, nice to know what size I'll be aiming for when I fry the factory treads off the rim!
Has anybody had any luck in getting some kind of credit for brand new factory tires when doing a switch?
If I can do that, I'll do it right away, if not, I'll just wear the factory rubber out first, I don't have another car to put them on.

Hey 38Special, how close do the tires come to the fenders and chassis at full jounce and full lock?
FYI: I went to Pirelli's web site to check the dimensions of the stockers. Firstly I noticed the stockers are listed as touring tires, given their M+S rating, makes sense. Secondly the lame Pirelli staff fails to give the dimensional data on the size charts. See: http://www.us.pirelli.com/en_US/tyres/cata...&productid=9853
Attached are the spec sheets for the BFG g-Force TA KDWS tires.

Man... I am so sold on 255/50's now. 38special... thanks a lot for being the guinea pig, and thanks for taking the time to get some pics up. They look great. I will be putting on 255/50's and adding some 1/4"-1/2" spacers ASAP. Might not have it in my budget to put the BFG's on. Thinking about Kumho Ecsta's or Nitto's.

Now this is what an 05 mustang should look like!!! I can't believe how much better it looks! This tire swap will make me perfectly happy, no need for 18s!

I have plenty of clearance when I turn the wheel all the way to either side. I drove the car hard with people in the back just to make sure the back wheels were ok as well.

A decent set of wheels and tires really makes the 05 in my opinion. Those tires makes the car look much better.
If/when I purchase a 2005+ mustang the first thing I will do is sell the wheels and tires, get some lower profile and wider summer tires, and lower it a bit. After looking at all the sema mustangs its truely amazing how much the car changes with just a combo like this.

Have you had a chance to compare the 2 tires.

High speed, I am very interested in the rear stability.

Rain
Gas mileage
Thanks

Brakes seem much improved.
Launch is awsome.
Turns without any hop or drift, none at all!
Much better straight line stability. I turn off the TCS but I have forgotten to do so a few times and the tires grip so well, I have not felt it kick in.
I have chirped the tires twice on quick acceleration when I shift to second.
Miles per gallon seems to be the same. Burned 1/3 of a tank today and I drove 90 or so miles. Lots of traffic too.

I second what SixtySix asked. Anybody know how a near immediate tire changed would work? Or how much credit? Or it the dealer would do it?
Also, does that extra width get in the way of the turning radius? Does the tire hit the wheel well when at full turn?
