BFG G Force All Season 255/50/R17
Mr. 'Stangster
I am just quoting what the allignment techs are telling me. That on level surfaces the car should have a slight turn to the right. This will reduce head on collisions if you fall asleep behind the wheel. The crown of the road, if that road section is made with a crown will make it go more to the right.
Now if you are right, then my car, which has very little rightward movement, and I mean very little, is almost perfectly alligned.
We need a tech to put his two cents in here.

I just bought 4 GT takeoffs for my V6 and planned on putting on 255/50's and this post pretty much answers my question I asked on another post.Hopefully the V6 has the same room in the wheelwells as the GT.I am having trouble finding 255/50 here in Florida since I wanted to look at the difference between the 215/65/16's that I have now.Didn't want to order them before ever seeing the difference and tread design.
38special I thought about that as well. However, the tire is a good tire and meets all my needs. Tires were in stock and came highly recommended by Discount Tires and others. Most importantly the tire is almost the same exact size as original equipment and will fit my stock rims with no steering issues or other clearance problems. Seemed the right decision if not replacing the wheels for larger diameter wheels. New wheels aren't really in the budget now - wife is about to have a stroke/coronary about my spending as it is. Guess I will find out for myself when they are installed.
By the way your are the 3rd person from this forum that has actually heard of Lakeland FL.

Man... I am so sold on 255/50's now. 38special... thanks a lot for being the guinea pig, and thanks for taking the time to get some pics up. They look great. I will be putting on 255/50's and adding some 1/4"-1/2" spacers ASAP. Might not have it in my budget to put the BFG's on. Thinking about Kumho Ecsta's or Nitto's.

I have done my share of research and will be putting 255/50/17X8 on the front and 275/50/17X9 on the back. Going with Nitto 450s. Has anyone put Cragar SS on an 05 GT.

Ben aren't you concerned about not being able to rotate tires from front to back to maximize tire life? Just a thought.

tmcolegr, I guess I get to be number 4 on the Lakeland recognition list! I have some cousins in Live Oak. I'm still undecided on wheel/tire combo. I want some 18's but not enough money right now. Guess I'll have to burn up my Pirelli's for now. Thanks for all the info on the tires guy's.
NewB here... Great place! Huge help in choosing my new toy...
Maybe this is unrelated, but has anyone read this article on the BFGoodrich site?
Enthusiasts purchasing the new 2006 Ford Mustang GT coupe and convertible can select 18-inch BFGoodrich g-Force T/A®KDW tires
I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this... Besides the fact that the production car was introduced wearing these tires...
Maybe Ford would consider a trade in of my year old wheels for these... B)

Should have been done on the '05 from the beginning....235 17's are just stupid....lol....think of all the mod work we could have done in other areas if the '05 came with BFG's and 18's to begin with.....jeez....

Besides, the Pirelli is a good tire - it's just not wide enough. I bet a bunch of people feel the same when the stock BFG's are on the '06. "I just needs to be a bit wider."
Just an update on my BFG G Force KDWS255/50/R17s.
11000 miles.
No Problems
Handled on the ice and snow great. The car may have something to do with this though to some degree.
Tread wear makes me think that I will get to 30k with these tires, but with the hotter weather coming, I may drive my 05 harder and nullify this.
Did take advantage of tire insurance at 8000 miles, total cost for the tire was 32 bucks after they measured the tread wear. Picked up a construction staple in my rear driver side tire. :bang: But insurance helped me through it with a smile.

Thanks for posting this 38special! The first thing I did when I got my new Mustang was to go over to Discount tire and get some new 17 inch wheels and BFG tires.
