WOW! :worship:
This car really performs the way it was meant to with serious rubber on the wheels.
It is worth the money to have the car that you thought you bought.
My Pirellis will go on my 02 Coup in the Spring. Once I buy new rims for her.

That's my car... color and wheels. Those tires look great. Can you possibly post some more pics at different angles... specifically from the front and rear showing the width of the tires? I am thinking about getting 255's or 275's all the way around ASAP.

Tire Rack rates the BFG G Force T/A KDWS pretty well.
To quote the site page:
In order to round out the g-Force T/A family, BFGoodrich wanted a tire that provided performance driving fun year round (even in snow) and developed the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDWS (Key benefits: Dry, Wet and Snow) to combine Ultra High Performance with All-Season traction. g-Force T/A tires are BFGoodrich’s flagship family of performance tires which includes everything from racing radials for the SCCA Trans Am Championship and DOT Legal Competition tires, to Max Performance and Ultra High Performance "summer" street tires.
The g-Force T/A KDWS uses a new tread compound molded into an asymmetric tread design with large, stable outer shoulder tread blocks to enhance dry traction while its inner independent tread blocks enhance wet road grip and light snow traction. Together, the tread compound and tread design help evacuate water from between the tire’s contact patch and the road to enhance wet grip when braking (it earns the highest "AA" UTQG Traction Rating) and cornering. Internally, the g-Force T/A KDWS’s polyester cord body incorporates BFGoodrich’s g-Control Sidewall inserts to enhance steering response and twin steel belts to deliver cornering stability. Additionally, the steel belts are reinforced with BFGoodrich’s ETEC (Equal Tension Containment System) spiral wound nylon to provide high speed durability while minimizing weight and maximizing ride qualities.
The g-Force T/A KDWS tires feature subtle black letter styling and are available in 55-, 50-, 45- and 40 -series; W-speed rated sizes for 16" to 17" wheel diameters.
Results from our online tire survey: 398 surveys submitted 4,629,874 miles reported
Dry 8.7
Traction Wet 8.1
Traction Hydro 8.1
Resistance Snow 6.2
Traction Cornering 8.4
Stability Steering 8.3
Response Ride 7.6
Comfort Noise 7.6
Comfort Tread 7.6
Wear 6.9
Surveyed Averages 8.7 8.1 8.1 6.2 8.4 8.3 7.6 7.6 6.9
Key: Superior (8.6-10) Excellent (6.6-8.5) Good (4.6-6.5) Fair (2.6-4.5) Unacceptable (0-2.5)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Would You Buy This Tire Again? Most said: Probably (Average of 7.5 out of 10)
How Did This Tire Rank In Its Category? 8 out of 18 tires (Score of 7.8 vs best tire in category score of 8.7)
Compare This Tire to Other Ultra High Performance All-Season Tires
B) B) B)
The site looks different than above so I typed the survey results next to the catagories listed. The catagories listed appear above the survey number on the site. Most folks who buy these tires would buy them again. That is always a good thing to read or hear.

275's are made to fit on a 7.5" to 9.5" width wheel. The stock GT wheels are 17"x8", so they should be fine. I have talked to a couple tire guys and they have all said it will work. If the 255's look noticeably wider than the stock 235's (38special- please post some pics showing the width) then I will be satisfied with 255's all around. I'm still upset this car didn't come on 255's... at least the GT. I'll never get over that one.

The main reason that I could not bear the pirellis is because they corner like you are wearing roller skates. My stock tire would not take a hard turn without hop drifting 1-4 feet into the turn. Turning from a stop and hitting the gas with TCS off there would be a hop to the right into a left hand turn or visa versa.
My 03 GT VERT with Goodyear stock tires, no movement or hop (yes I traded her in for the 05 )
My 05 with BFG tires, no movement or hop.
Racing the other day with another car, I was going 100mph and the lane changes were scary. Pulled away from him though, I probably was going 120 mph.
With the BFG (or Goodyears on my GT) no problem. The wider tire will save your life and the softer compounds may wear faster but they will keep the tires on the road and stop the hop.

Your pushing it with 275's on a 8 inch rim. I would stick with the 255's

If you do decide going with 275's you should go with the 50 series. the 45 series will be a tad smaller in diameter throwing off speedo 1 mph . The 50 series will be a tad taller thowing off seedo 1.4 mph. The 275/50/17 are avalible in the same brands the 255's listed in the next paragraph
As far as the 255's . The best I could find in that size are the Potenza re750- g-force ta kdws- and the kumho ecsta supra and nittos. All these tires are excellent in traction and handling. hey 38special!!!!!!Get some rear pics of the 255 showing the meat.

And not to rain on your parade, but the PZero Nero M&S is a better tire than the KWDS in terms of grip and handling. The wider tires you put on probably helped a bit....
