Repost I spelled a lot of things wrong…..There probably wont be a cobra boys, sorry to break it to you, but this "new" cobra to be unveiled is going to be a crappy concept car, and probably there won't even be a concept. Motor trend says no and other people SPECUALATE yes, and me all knowing me says no cobra, on-a-count of dominating large liter competition. I think so. Svt is testing these concept cobras, with the nearly same engine as the FORD GT. aka "let’s see what we can get to draw attention to mustang." I estimated that the mustang would price it's self out of the market. And all these power harnessing Japanese cars are going to take it over. stinks... but I don’t know anymore guys... hahah on my first post i relate to you guys as... "guys" my pals.

All of the above have been posted on this site except the last few from Autoweek forums. In fact, the guy with the sister's, husband's best friend is a member of this board. I think he goes by Steve.
As the article you linked says, it is all rumor at this point. That is why we have the "Rumor Board" subforum in this forum. Look up at the top. Also, if you read this whole thread. These issues have been discussed.
Even the above does not support your no Cobra theory. That article is all pointing toward the existence of a Cobra. You are right, the car at NYIAS is supposed to be a concept. Why would they build a Cobra concept and not plan to build the car? There will be an SVT Mustang. Regardless of its name.

So we wont know the price til it hits the lots?

Are you just trying to ask the most annoying questions or are you just being dense? IRS vs live axle, is 5.4 definite, and now what sticker price is going to be. I suppose all are somewhat decent questions but they have all been asked about 1000 times. Take some initiative and look for yourself.

This forum is full of Cobra information (speculation). Read this entire thread and read all the Cobra stuff in the Rumor Board forum. It will bring you up to speed. Price will be available next winter most likely. Order banks should open early next spring with deliveries starting late spring (once again, all speculation, but, based on the info we have).

I have every confidence that the only thing you will get out of the SVT guys at the upcoming show will be ballpark number. Final option decisions will more than likely continue to be made in the upcoming year which are bound to influence the final price.
So we will have to wait and see what that little window sticky says when the cars hit the lots.
Personally, I say a base of 39k optioned out to about 41k and then marked up to something in the neighborhood of 45k

"I wish you would say something lower... I would rather hear a base of 30K. I guess we will have to wait and see."
I know one thing, it won't be anywhere near $30K. The 03/04 base price was $35K. A price tag of $40K probably isn't too far off.

Email said, "All entries must be received by 12:00 PM EST, March 10, 2005."
So, best guess is that they'll be picking/notifying the winners starting tomorrow or Friday. I'll bet the 20 winners are all selected by Tues or Wed next week so they can make travel plans.
As for price, I'm sure it will all continue to be speculation until they unveil the production car at next January's show in Detroit. I guess the next countdown will be "# days until production 2007 SVT Cobra Unveiled NAIAS - January 8, 2006".

Let us also not forget the issue of concept/production variances on the 05. Seeing as the 05 concept looked remarkedly different than the production version why should we believe the same won't hold true for the SVT variant.
And if it does prove to be true, everyone is basically holding their breath for an unveiling that very well could have little in common with the final product.

It might not be close, it might be exact. The Terminator Concept was virtually exact, the Bullitt was not. We won't know 'til the Prodx version is released. I 'm just excited that we are getting closer and closer.
