This might spark alittle debate.. But here goes..

I cant see anyone who would be willing to get a stage one kit on the stock V6, unless they had their own power-adder in mind.. Now would you want to be caught driving a Shelby marked Mustang V6 with Cobra emblems on it with the stock V6 engine? LOL!! Needless to say, most dealers should just go for the stage 2 kit..

Now, it wouldnt be so bad to have a Stage 1 on the GT.. Naming is appropriately the CS8.. Now for the life of me, I am trying to understand why a CS8 isnt available as well.. The WestCoast Customes car is a Stage 2 CS8.. But a Stage 1 CS8 would be the GT with the Stage 1 kit.. I would buy this..

But imagine owning a Stage 1 CS6, and getting caught at a stoplight by a GT.. LOL!! I just hate to think of the implications of that scenario..

So we will have to wait and see how this winds up.. But for sure a Stage 1 CS6 is compleley out of the question, unless your own mods are planned for the engine.. But a Stage 1 GT CS8 would be ok..

Awesome!!! Thanks to Kevin for finding the information. I would definitely say the 25 car production only applies to the V8 UberStang and not the V6 car.

As MSP stated, it would appear you can order the V6 car directly from Shelby or possibly through any participating Ford dealership. A 350HP V6 with lighter weight and better balance, (even with the added weight of the SC) should be a terrific handling car!! Now, all I need to do is hit the lotto so I can buy a whole herd of Mustangs!!

Oh, I can totally see it, in fact it will most likely be the best seller based solely on price alone. Not everyone is a car nut. There's plenty who will buy it because it looks cool.

And look cool it does. I wonder if the stripes are optional? I like everything but the "Boss" style stripe with the snake emblem.

Yes, for people not into Forum's, and just a love for their car, they would be fine with it.. But take it to a forum to show some pride, and get beaten to a pulp or stoned in the streets.. LOL!! You know how rough the crowds are on forums..

But anyway, nice response, and post well received.. I totally agree!

Excuse my ignorance but I'm new to this whole aftermarket scene.

With that being said, would I be able to have the Stage 2 kit installed on my 05?

Contact them directly, and let us know how it goes!

Probably looking at $15K for all parts labor and installation.. I would guess a new car will go for $36K if your lucky!

I found this on Motortrend.com

"Shelby CS6 Mustang Concept

Legendary racecar driver and Cobra creator Carroll Shelby will offer a modified V-6 upgrade package for 2006 Ford Mustang. The CS 6 features a Shelby-exclusive Paxton NOVI-1200 Centrifugal supercharger that increases horsepower from the stock 210 to more than 350. Available in two stages, the package is intended to produce a faster, lighter, and more powerful Mustang with official Shelby performance, all for under $35,000; it can be installed by Ford dealers on either coupes or convertibles, will carry Ford warranty, and can be financed into the cost at the time of purchase. The Stage 1 appearance package includes front fascia and side scoops, custom hood and upper and lower grilles, interior upgrades, 20-inch American Racing wheels, and custom striping, graphics, and logos, all for $5499. The Stage 2 Performance package includes all of the above and adds suspension upgrades, Borla dual exhaust, 350-hp Paxton supercharger, Baer Signature Series Brakes with Shelby Calipers, and rear fascia and rear gear upgrades, all for $14,999. (Prices do not include labor.) More information can be found at www.shelbyautos.com."

While it's terrific news that we have confirmation regarding the ability for customers to order a CS6 directly from Ford dealerships with the cost financed into the purchase, the price tag for the CS6 IS outrageous. The cost for a full-boat CS6 could approach nearly 50 large including the price of the car, the package components and the installation of the upgrades.

That's not exactly affordable which is what a V6 car should be providing, not a potentially more expensive alternative to the GT500.

Leave it to Shelby to make a great car and then price it so that it is virtually unobtainable

Hey I just saw the title of the thread on my way to the GT forum. I had to come see if this was a joke. Then I got attacked for stating the obvious. So sorry V6 people, go and worship your 6 cyl shelby.
sad that weve come to be segregated based on our engine instead of joined by the car itself

dont we have enough enemies?? GTO, vettes rice burners etc without insulting each other?

Loser's come in all shapes and sizes.. Nothing new..

But I am glad I have been able to spot another true Mustang Lover!

As you can see, we have alot of poser's around here.. People who pretend to love Mustangs, but secretly despise everything about them..

Well said, it's too bad some people stoop to insulting others to make themselves feel more important...or maybe they are compensating for something...

I didn't even have the spec right, I pulled it from memory. Actually the 5.0 non-Cobra model is 205. 5.0 cobra is 235.

Gotta love my 6. LOL.

In the 1990 model it was rated 225 the later years they lowered the number to 205 but it still does the same 190rwhp...
