What did I do with my Mustang today.

Started as usual, drove it to work. Looking forward to picking up a new one with the newer 305HP V6. Either an 11-14 Premium. Hard to find as they are all priced high on the current market. Will miss my 04 but I crave the HP. ( with better gas mileage) lol

Interesting that you mentioned that. I always tell the dealer NO "NAMEPLATE"

More bling. I never liked the gloss black trunk panel; it was a magnet for every speck of dust on the road and magnified all of them, so I replaced it with ingot silver. New gas door too, and as soon as I get a spray can the black semi-circles will be the same blue as the body.

mounted a 2.5 lb fire extinguisher on driver side floor. hardly know its there, easy to reach. I would like to run the Texas BBORR next year and that's one of the requirements for all classes.

Iridium NGK plugs and Accel coils. Sounds and feels smoother.

Also, billet aluminum hood release lever. Now I can stop worrying about the cheap flimsy plastic OE lever.

Aftermarket ignition coils are a waste of $$$$, but the new plugs may have contributed to the smoother idle.
However, the plugs you removed are good for 100k miles, so what made you look to replace them? (and the coils)

Believe it or not I had to replace my OEM battery today. Dang thing frizzed out and all of a sudden would no longer hold a charge. One day fine, next day done. The car is 1 month short of 4 years. Kind of caught me by surprise, did not expect that one at all.

Also when I pulled the battery the little fabric heat shield was toast too, just crumbled and fell apart. Figured if Ford went to the effort and cost to add it that it was probably needed so decided to order a replacement. On its way...

I was a little surprised at the wimpy battery these things have. I've been use to buying ones for Jeep Grand Cherokees with 750-800 CCA. This little guy just has 590CCA. Probably why it rolled over and died. But the replacements are not really any better in this class.

So I guess I can plan on a 4 year replacement cycle. Is that about what others are seeing?

Ford's factory-installed batteries are hit-or-miss.
The Motorcraft batteries sold at the Parts counter are good, especially the 3-year-free-replacement ones.
As a Ford Service Advisor for almost 10 years, I sold many batteries and rarely had a warranty claim on them.

But Gabe, it says right on the ads, coils and plugs will give me double the hp, triple the torque, and infinite mpg! But seriously, it's more of an excuse to tinker with stuff. Any slight noticeable improvement in performance is cool. And they offered the coils in blue, so they look really good in my car.

Today I replaced the reverse lockout shift collar with a one-piece billet aluminum collar. Looks good, feels great, and it didn't take as long as I expected.

Also swapped out the original interior light bulbs for blue LEDs, and I really like the way they look.

Well it was $20.69 and tax if I could have picked it up. Tried locally and they wanted a nearly $40+tax. That is way over list. So I ordered it from my favorite Ford Dealer in Minnesota, AutoNation Ford White Bear Lake. Lowest I could find. I have always got great prices from them. Catch is that it cost me $7.95 shipping and $1.99 for handling & materials. So it was $30.63. Still ahead compared to local.

^ luckily my OEM battery for the last 7+ years is still good...

My plugs I swapped to NGK's during the blower install.

16k miles on her to date, and still going strong.

Oh, and what'd I do for her today?

Scheduled her 4 post lift install for tomorrow!!!
