Hit it with a lubricant and let it soak overnight- would that help?
Otherwise, I remember that spinach always worked for Popeye..... you could try that, pops.

It's soaking as we speak. I will cut a piece on pipe tomorrow at work and give it one last yank. It also has loctite on it. So the initial pull takes more a$$. I should have enough but we will see. Biggest issue is with the over the axle pipes still in the car you only have from about 5 o'clock to about 7 o'clock to work within.

I'm so disappointed with Tom, here is a perfect chance for some old fart slams and ....... nothing
I expected something like...... Hey Old Fart that a bigger hit off your Oxygen tank and you might be able to crack that nut........or...... Hey Old Fart try taking the center support bar off your Walker to use as a Cheater bar.....
Just Kidding Scott I think the problem is the way you'll sticking your tongue out, try the other side of your mouth .
Hope you get r done tonight

Well guys....I AM SPYDERIZED!!! I don't care if you are a young gun or an old fart like me but that pinion nut is a b***H coming off and a b***H going back on. It just takes leverage I guess. An 18 inch breaker bar with a 24 inch pipe plus I pulled my truck in the garage so I could put my feet against the front wheel so I wouldn't slide. I'm sure I won't be able to move tomorrow but it is done. Time for a beer!!

Congrats Scott!
Right tools are usually the answer. Get the nut retorqued OK?
Let us know how it drives, with all that effort required, it better give you a nice boost

Yes I retorqued it to the max of 150 ft/lbs. That still seems light as much effort as it took to get it off. It has one of those nuts that is like out of round you know. Very hard to turn in either direction. Not sure what the loctite does. Doesn't seem like you need it.
Darrell,
No driving just yet. I have decided while the car is up in the air I might as well go ahead and do Earl's SS brake lines. I will just be carefull opening the packages and will wrap them so I can open them Xmas eve at the in-laws.
Tom,
The scooter wouldn't hold my fat butt so I had to get out my truck!!

Tom,
After visiting the Dallas/Ft Worth megapolis, aren't you glad you live in rural IN? Way too many people there for me.
Hope you make it back north soon!
