Next time we need you to make a video of your cruising night. Sounds like a great time, I can hardly wait to get mine done so I can cruise it. Somehow we need to get the 2 II's together.

Got a new gas cap today, bec I lost mine the other night Cheaper and in stock at Kohlweiss, unlike kragen/ebay

also, me and peter played with some of the screws on the carb after skimming a blurb on carb tuning lol. not ideal, but the idle is steadier, and a bit higher, which is what i wanted bec it occasionally stalled in reverse. i think an extra 100rpm might help out. the tach needle is alot less shaky now and after adjusting the timing again (i put a tank of 91 in it lol, just to see) it feels smother driving around town. we must have done something good lol

dude its been great all day lol.

drove up into the mountains to the other peter's house, even took 280 (albeit to the very next offramp) but i made it there with one stall at an inclined redlight after the offramp, so not bad at all, esp considering the 2.3L fan lol

And now that the steering isjuuuust right, it feels great on those windy roads. this car is wonderful

I'll take your word for it bro. I like my steering to be the effortless kind, but if you enjoy breaking a sweat trying to turn a corner, I'm glad you have the II.

My II use to have power steering but I swapped it out for manual. Not sure if I will regret it or not. Just that manual is alo less stuff to hook back up. My power steering though did have the cooler on it which I thought I was neat but odd.

surprised the 2.3 fan can even get the job done... what ever happened to the bimmer fan you were supposed to get? just asking, because i FINALLY installed my electric fan/aluminum radiator combo - makes me wonder why i didn't do it sooner. LOL, actually running cooler with the A/C on! a good cooling system upgrade = one less thing to worry about on a road trip/cruise.

that was supposed to get done when the car got painted, which hasnt happened yet. Plus, we don't know if we're even going to be able to afford a paint job now, its all unpredictable.

maybe i should just get an electric fan...

a good fan is going to need a charging system (alternator + associated wiring) and controller (variable speed/adj. temp activation FTW) that can handle it. i wonder if a 3.8 v6 taurus fan + dcc fan controller would work? i think my 130 amp 3g alternator seems to be just barely keeping up with the fan (it supposedly pushes around 3000 cfm at 100% output...) a in-car led indicator to monitor fan operation would be nice to have too.

you're talking about a bunch of stuff i don't quite understand. looks like i have more learning to do. wiring/electronics are things that don't come to me as easily as something mechanical

i don't know what kind of alternator i have, presumably stock for a '92 LSC. I have read about the taurus fan though, and i really should just do that and get it out of the way. i dont quite understand how to wire it or the controller bit, but thats what trial and error is for i guess.

i'll see what i can get my hands on first

check out the DIY tech on the various Mustang forums concerning electric fan conversions for 5.0's - not too sure about the classics though. if you don't mind, there's always a manual on/off dash toggle switch to control the fan - just remember to keep an eye on your temp. gauge! =)

I think I would be better off just having a fan that i could switch on. plus... toggle switches!!!

Hmm.. Since the '74 grille I bought didn't fit my '76, I could return it to the pick'n'pull and use the credit to get a taurus fan

I think companies like Jeg's and Summit racing have really nice thermostat turn on/off for electric fans as wel as being able to over ride them with a toggle. They are really quite easy to install.

Yes, 74 mustang was by itself in it has a different front end and different hood and grille. Ford made the front narrower in 75 for the V8 as in &4 no V8 was offered.
