When working with rattle cans you can still only improve so much, though.
We should spring on a paint gun some time and try our hand... That would be an adventure.
Your car first? I think so...

Hooray for the can of bondo I found in my garage! It was left over from one of my friends eagle scout projects. The can even had patching panels for some of my larger rust holes
I filled in all the holes from that stupid door guard i removed decades ago (first mod! yay!) and patched the rust hole on the drivers door and the ones on the left side of the hatch. They need to be sanded and gone over once more for smoothness, but they're alright for now. I also started molding in the ducktail, at least on the sides. The left side looks alot better than the right, bec I did the right side first lol
I fixed the dent I made in the hood from trying to fix the other dent I made in the hood
All the bondo, well most of it, is pretty rough right now. I'll smooth it some when it dries
And heres what you guys really want:

theres alot on right now, but i still plan to sand it to hell and smooth it out. Keep in mind most of it is a very thin layer. I tried to have a wide spread but thin thickness so that it sort of blends in smoothly as possible.
i cant wait to smooth it out and have it be perfect

The hitch was the major player in my first accident, rolling back on a hill it mangled another cars bumper. I hate that it happened, but I like to remember it. Plus its funny. A tow hitch? on a mustang? heck, the smallest mustang around?

I did most of the bondo sanding today. There are a few small spots I need to go over a tad, and some spots where I need to fill in with more bondo. I also still have to repair the center section of the spoiler and ultimately bondo the seam on there too.
It's coming out better than I thought it would. I really hope I can make this car look as good as it actually is. After this, I just need to install the new fan, a new radiator hose (to clear the larger fan), cut a bigger hole in the hood
, install something that sticks out of the hood
, maybe get some new seats, clean the inside, clean the wheels, repair/sand bumpers, and maybe (just maybe) open up the dash to replace the bulbs in the cluster.
Oh right, and paint the darn thing
I've got one month to do this before the show. enough rambling though, I've just been typing while photobucket finishes its thing. Enjoy:

Pretty cool arin! Going a little crazy on the bondo there. Gotta be very carful where you use it, if you use it for large spots you could end up hitting a pothole and the bondo can break off and leave a hole and ruin any paint job you might have done over it.

Ain't that the truth! I initially put alot on so I would have as much as I needed to work with. Alot of it has gone away, and more will continue to so so until its perfect. If I add more at this point, its to fix spots where there is a lack, like on the left side of the spoiler, and a few small spots on the rusty area and some miniscule spots on the body where the little holes were
