Thats what people most folks say, but i've seen guys who have streetable setups with tunnel ram
I've been reading this guy's cardomain
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/803178
and he runs a II with a roller 302 and tunnel ram too.
I did some other research and as long as I don't overcarb it I'll be just fine
Peter, I have two hoods

I guess it's because I don't hit 4k rpm often when I drive... and I don't know squat about tuning a carburetor, never mind syncing multiple carbs. IMO, I'd also be looking for a good pair of aluminum heads w/roller rockers to go with that intake - that would really wake the car up.
If you can get the intake manifold, have fun cutting away. You planning on using a similar scoop too, or will you use something like a "Pro stock"-style scoop (covers the whole thing/attached to the hood)?

I'm hoping to get some AFR heads sometime, I know that intake will LOVE that. I've seen people get **** near 100 horsepower out of a stock 5.0 with AFRs, at the crank that is. I'm also waiting to do the multiple carb setup until i can get two smaller ones ~390cfm so I know I won't be overcarbing it. I did some really minor tuning on the carb I have now, and I ended up feeling a difference in the power and how it drives. Its not a huge gain, but it feels more refined and idles where i want it to
as for my scoop, I'm either going to get a Mr Gasket Scoop like Burningman used to have

or a Shotgun scoop

I don't like the plain hillborns. They make me feel hollow inside
edit:
as for low end torque, I'll let you know how it is. I also plan on dynoing it, so we should know how effective this setup is

I ran a tunnel ram a few years ago on a lifted dodge with 39.5 inch tall tires and a 440 and It was very driveable. The 440 was a tired worn out 271,000 mile piece of junk too . Funny how piece of Junk goes hand in hand with mopar anyway lol I was concerned about low end torque and all but I drove it daily and it worked out. One thing you will find though is tunnel rams like alot of gas. I am assuming tis car is not your daily driver but more a toy, I say have fun with it, if you want to change it later go for it. Extra hoods are around so just get another hood and cut it out for the tunnel ram.

I'm gonna be using the stock hood for the tunnel ram, since its the one that has a cutout under the scoop anyway, and bec it has more rust than the spare. No sense ruining a perfect hood
And no, its not my DD thats for sure lol. I'll see if I can afford to put a tank of 100 in there after the tunnel ram and dual quads are set up

ARGH!
I hate this state. I got a letter saying I did not qualify for smog exhemption! So now I have to go back to the DMV and see if I can convince them otherwise. If that doesn't work, and still have to smog it, I'm just going to find someone who will lie and say I passed and switch my car back to regular registration. No sense living with the antique restrictions if I have to pass smog anyway
God **** California

Picked up the flex fan today, but it didn't fit.
I need to get a new radiator hose. I think I might upgrade the thermostat at the same time. Might end up waiting it out for the new intake, since you have to drain the coolant for that anyway, and then doing it all at once.
Also, there was alot of tire screechin today. Gotta love it when theres an 83 GT chasin you around. I swear, this car is freaking awesome. I love it

Try one of the corragated steel hoses that you can bend in the way you need to clear. I have switched to them becuase they hold the shape plus you can bend them out of the way of the fan, belts and other things in the way. They are a little pricey though but they work well.

I lost the auction on the drive back to stockton today. great.
This just makes today wonderful. i didnt get tickets on ticketmaster to a show for me and my friends, and my parents lectured me on how im a failure of a son for a multitude of reasons, the foremost beign that im not a beleiver in hinduism like them
i might put working and funding the II on hold temporarily. I have to pay my own tuition next year at the academy of art in SF. I'd love to make enough money this summer to do that AND move out of the house.. i can't wait to be free from those control freak hypocrites
