What did you do with your Mustang today?

I consider my GT a gt500 lookalike, and have only 5.0 and GT badging on it. The swapped front end and rear spoiler are oem gt500 so i completely understand how car show parking attendants continue to mistakenly direct me to the wrong sections LOL.

Thanks Burton
I cheated a bit and removed the black & red Redline decals as it distracted from the overall appearance. Those stainless struts are around:

Found out that my friend is getting me stock GT ota piping, 2.75" swap for the 2.25" that's stock on the v6. So I'll be putting that on, and then the gt500 mufflers should bolt right up to that.

But the GT OTA pipes won't bolt up to your X-pipe...and honestly the stock GT OTA pipes are so crushed at the part that goes over the axle, you're better off keeping your stock OTAs. Or having a shop fab up a complete X-pipe back system out of 2.5 or 2.75 (I doubt they'd have that). It wouldn't be more than $200 if that...

Plus, going to a pipe that's that much larger over stock is bound to lose a bunch of low-end torque, as the expense for whatever increased high-rpm horsepower might be

Nah all of the aftermarket V6 catbacks are 2.5" mandrel bent - that's bigger than the GT in some spots. I'd venture that the GT OTA pipes are crushed down to 2" in some areas. It would be fine on the 11-14 V6s. I just wouldn't want that crushed pipe on my car. He probably has better flow now than we do stock

Ordered it a new VMP triple-pass heat exchanger and a 170-degree thermostat

Thanks Burton ... the lower-temp thermostat keeps the temp of the engine coolant lower, I'm getting it just thinking of the #8 cylinder and how hot the thing gets. Basically only thought of it after speaking with BJ at VMP and him reminding me of that #8.
I'll need a revised tune from JD to turn on the stock radiator fans at lower temps to take full advantage of the 170-degree t-stat

It's a "better safe than sorry" thing ... I went to a lower-temp t-stat on my '07 Charger and I think doing it on this car will help also, to keep the engine cooler to make more power

Congratulations! I sure wish they would have had the triple pass when I got mine a year ago. I've had the 170 stat sitting around for months but finally getting it put in along with bigger injectors (ID725's), JLT 123MM CAI and a 82mm pulley along with a dyno tune the first or second week of September. I'm going to get her to 600+ HP if it kills me.

I went with the middle choice. It look me longer to find my tools than to install them. So easy a caveman can do it!!!
Best $85 I've spent on my car.
