The drivetrains are just so expensive and scarce. Even a total will cost you big money. Would love to swap it in a 69 fastback body.

True. It's crazy how pricey a crate motor is these days!

I half toyed with the idea of parting out this Mach 1 I just bought and put the entire drivetrain and interior into my '69 Mach 1...but it just runs so well I would hate to tear apart a good car.....but if I get a wild hair you never know....

The wife wants a '60's Mustang, and I've about decided that the best way to go about it is to buy an old beater fastback and restore the body while dropping in a modern drivetrain for her. Still going to be a manual though. She wants paddle shifters; I told her I'd never be able to show my face again at anything Mustang related once people found out I put paddle shifters in a 1st-gen fastback. Besides, no interest in paying for a paddle shifter setup.

Oh, I have a reason....being in this business will slowly turn you into one....But I've earned mine the hard way....not just signed papers at the dealer and awarded it

That's the only way to do it if you want to spend anytime enjoying it on road trips....but yeah, the paddle shifter isn't a good idea...it's just not right.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who would love to get their hands on a GT500 body kit in exchange for their hood and bumpers

So you built your own Roush and your own Saleen?

The 1st generation of Mustangs are just impossible to stop looking at. They're beautiful cars with beautiful lines. Driving one with a 1st generation power train is another story.

I had a dream last night that I was sleeping and I was awoken by a noise.

I got the back door and it's wide open. I notice the fridge is open and the pantry door. Then I notice raccoons eating all my food. I was appalled. Then one of them looked at me and said "**** off hoser!" And went back about his business.

Wonder what that means?

I remember once as a teenager having a cartoon dream

Everyone was a cartoon including me

I also used to have a recurring dream about dying in a one car accident on a long bridge in a red car. This was when I was a teenager also. I wouldn't buy a red car and then I finally have up and bought one when I was about 37 I think.

Technically....yes....since I am having to restore both

Nobody wants to drive 40 year old technology and if they say they do...give them a week, that will change....
