Hey Charlie,
Been out playing around with the light a little. It isn't even fully dark yet and holy hell it will light up your world. Like I said earlier, I don't know what kind of charge the batteries have, just put them in right out of the pack.
And yes, 100 yards is no problem at all. Really focused bright hotspot right in the middle but a lot of spill around it too to light up the whole area.
The lanyard might not be ideal for what you want. Its just a thin strap that attaches though a hole in the edge of the tail cap. Really well built and solid feeling. The head and tail piece both screw in really smoothly. Weighed it and its 11 1/8 ounces with batteries.
I'll update with more as I mess with it. Curious to see if there's a difference when I get a known full charge on the batteries. Amazing to see this much light come out of something so small.

With it being aluminum, do you think something like a key ring would work in the hole in the tail cap (and then I could tie my neck twine through that)? Or do you think that could eventually break away. Or maybe a loop of fencing tie wire (prob 22ga)?
I also notice a groove near the knurled end by the cap.
Do you think a piece of coated wire (like 14 or 16ga) could be tightly wound there, that I could make another twist that would hold the twine around my neck?
Or maybe a hose clamp somehow?
This is always the problem with so many flashlights - incl with Mags. Even the holsters have it backwards because they have the bulb pointing up - instead of making a way they point to the ground so you could have some light where you're walking and be hands free. Designers are dunces. Seems like growing up all flashlights had a ring in the end cap.

A Man Just Needs Some....
Thanks Lee. The 100yd focused beam with some wider spill sounds great.

You should check into that two button nightstick I posted before. Definitely not as bright as Lee's but it has an area light on the side that works great. I've clipped it on my shirt pocket and was able to work in front of me without a problem. And it's cheap and only takes 3AA's.
