Well, I was under the assumption that there was room for negotiation after she said "there is room for negotiation". HELLO...if you say there is room for negotiation...........then I expect you to negotiate. Frankly, I work because I have a family to feed and bills to pay, not because I want to. So, none the less, I will not be taking that job. Just wasn't meant to be, but better to find out now. Something better HAS to be out there!

Thanks for letting me vent
It is about the money and she knew that when she did that to you. Your better off not working for people that work that way. Says one thing than does another thing. You wouldn't know where you stand.
Keep on looking.

Friday at last! No work, yipee!
Sorry to hear that Jill, but you did the right thing. Those cheap bastards only want to exploit people without paying the proper amount of $$.
Better luck next time.

update of crashed Mustang:

The shop called me yesterday and told me that they encountered more damage than they thought. They replaced the bumper, reinforcement, isolator, both headlights and headlight mount, hood and even the radiator support!. The funny thing is that the radiator support was already bent by the previous owner of my car, so it's a plus for me They told me that the car would be ready today, but i need to sign some insurance papers so they can get their $$. I'll report later how it turned out.

Hey Nathan - good job on the deck lid mod. You had said that your Dad cut it out for you. Did he make the form out of 1/4 or 1/8 plywood and then you just covered it with carpet? I like it. Could even have some laser cut stainless logo for your car made and inserted on it too.

Thanks! He cut it out of I think 1/8" hardboard. (It was only a few bucks at menards, but any place should have it.) Then I just glued on the carpet that I got from here: http://www.yourautotrim.com/darkheather.html, and mounted it with trunk liner retainers that I got from CJ Pony Parts. I've thought about the letters, but I think I'm just gonna leave it plain for now.

Work has been a beast today. This morning flew by so fast I was late leaving for lunch. I haven't had a spare second all day.

Jill,
Good for you for not taking the lowballed job. I imagine if she was putting you through this crap now, before you work there, there would be even more crap to deal with when you did

Still got my fingers crossed for you

I have to admit, I was pretty ticked off about it all afternoon and went to bed with a major headache. But, I can't dwell on it and I'll just chalk it up to another life lesson (do they ever stop?). I guess I needed the interview experience again anyway since I haven't been on one since 1996.

So now I've been hitting up every contact I have to keep their eyes and ears open. I emailed my old boss that I worked for for 5 years (he's not working there anymore either) and he let me know that he's always been a fan of mine, will pass my resume along and to be sure that I use him as a reference.

So for now............still looking.

well, the way i figure it is, you do everything you can, if it happens, it happens, if not, then not; as long as you do what you can do, you dont have control of anything else

Talking I GOT IT BACK, WOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well guys/gals, I'm home at last with my baby!! The guy's there did a pretty good job on it. It looks as if it never was crashed The only complaint I have is that the hood doesn't close as smoothly as before, but I'll fix that later on, since it needs a little re adjustment on the hood lock, no big deal. I just wanted it back!
