Actually my first thought in hearing the song was that the Aggies at Texas A&M must freakin' love this song. With their bonfire tradition and everything. I can just see those rednecks getting hammered and singing this song.

Hey Kenny Chesney is from a small town about 30 minutes from here. And George Strait, the godfather of country to me, graduated from college about an hour from here.

The stereotypes about Texas are usually true though. I went to college in Dallas at a small private school and students came from all over the country. I used to get a kick out of showing Texan culture to the guys from Brooklyn and New Jersey.
