Does that make sense to you Eduardo?
It does to me, but I highly doubt it has a locker. If it had a locker it would be very hard turn and it would make more noise then just a chirp. Also tight turns would even give you a clicking noise. It sounds like the limited slip in my fathers Vette. Under acceleration making a turn from stop when you cross the yellow lines it chirps.

IDK maybe the clutch packs have seized up or are sticking because it hasn't been driven much?

I would not doubt this. I'm afraid to drop the pan and change the filter for fear of what will happen.

The fluid is still a good color. I'd like to add an external filter too, like a relocated oil filter thing on the trans cooler lines, but I just haven't wanted to tackle the transmission because I know how touchy they can be. It works fine now, but if I change the filter and fluid, it might shift like ****.

I agree, trannys with high miles have always made me nervous.

After hearing the deal with the oil pan, someone may have changed the fluid in the differential and didn't add a bottle of friction modifier, only used gear oil. That will cause tire chirping and chatter in the clutch pack when turning.

Very good idea Lee. I was going to change the differential fluid this weekend because I really don't know what's in there, because I didn't put it in there.

I think Jim was talking about the differential clutch packs.

Edit: correct.

If you change it, be sure to add a bottle of this.

You should be able to get it at the parts dept. at the Ford dealer.

Most limited or locking differentails use clutch packs. The rarest ones use springs, old Jaguars as an example. Open diffs just have spider gears.

Well guys its been fun. I've got to go remove the rear quarter windows before tomorrow for the spray job. And I've got to fit my baja bar to make sure it works before they spray it too.
