What have you done to/with your Boss 302 this week?
Rick, I didn't want to re-read the entire thread, but I just wanted to make sure you knew that that spoiler was intended to be used with the LS splitter to balance the car. Are you installing the splitter also? I was preparing for another track day yesterday and read the note in the Boss Supplement.

I've talked to Ford Racing about that and I don't think it's going to be an issue especially with the speeds I'll be driving. Other options and better ones IMO are installing the 302S hood which decreases lift and effectively increases downforce. Another option they suggested was installing a 1" spacer between the valance and Boss splitter. Might be an opportunity for someone to make an aftermarket product. The LS splitter looks to be a PITA to install and it's not something I want to install and remove for the track. BTW the LS spoiler is available on V6 cars too.
The the LS wing and Boss front valance were specifically designed for the Boss project but were used on the California Special to help spread the tooling costs. Ever notice how perfect the Boss splitter looks on the valance? That was no accident.

nice...
the white spoiler looks great on that car, Rick!
for the folks who've done the 'Gary's grill mod'...what size drill bit did you use?
and on the question of wheels - CCW does make great wheels for the price...my last set of 18" classics were in the 20lb range (19.8 lbs for 9" fronts and 20.8 lbs for 10.5 rears)...and ccw provides great service. (they were the same weight as my kinesis k58's...also awesome wheels, but kinesis is under new ownership / management and I was unhappy with my dealings with them post-ownership change)...but why, at that price point, aren't folks jumping on the bbs rims? I'm thinking of grabbing a set of those.

Also, I used some new fangled drill bit that looked impressive but didn't work real well. It had a special small tip that looked like it wouldn't walk as much. That part worked pretty well but it wanted to grab the plastic and corkscrew the drill through the hole. Not good!
I went with a standard tipped drill and it worked much better. It seemed to center itself on the hex chamfers which kept the hole centered.
I used a standard 1/4" drill bit and then followed it up with a 1/4" concrete drill bit. I know this probably sounds a little funny but the concrete bit has rolled edges that aren't nearly as sharp as a standard bit, so I used it to clean up the holes without cutting into the edges of the mesh.
1012.....
Haven't taken pics yet with tint because car is still dirty from my drive to dealer in rain yesterday
EDIT: Adding pics soon..please excuse dirty car

After seeing Dean's drilled grill a few weeks ago, I too used a regular tapered tipped 5/16 drill bit, then followed up with a 1/4 inch wire pipe cleaner style brush, which deburred the edges. It took a while doing this step, but left a very clean edge. I also took the top cover off, and cleaned the back edge of the grill with a sharp long bladed knife. No burrs left at all. I used a satin black paint to touch up the edges and it came out great! Thanks to the pioneers on here for trying things out that could have results that might be less than desired.
