The 08 Bullitt was a "package" yet you could order HID's, security system and I think a Shaker 1000 as options on it.
In Canada the HID's were not an available option but I got the security system as an option on the Bullitt I ordered.

Been kicking myself ever since.
My 70 Mach 1 is Grabber Blue with black deluxe interior. As a matter of fact it is due out of the paint shop any day now. I sure was hoping the 2012 Boss 302 would be available in GB with 70 style black stripes. Would have made a nice pair.

I just cannot see the new boss being less then $47,000.00 with basic options. Anyone that thinks it will be less the 40k is not thinking. A base and I mean base 2011 C/S is $36,500.. and people are thinking they will get a car loaded with a far better list of options plus the fact it is goign to be a special edition. come on lets get real.

For Ford, I think $40k is the "magic" number for the car. I don't even know what the Laguna version's premium will run for it.

You have to remember though, some things aren't being equipped on the Boss that the base GT has, and others are being replaced. It may not cost as much to produce as you might think.

The big question is how many will they make. That's going to determine the dealer markup. I'm guessing 41 to 42k before any ADM's.

The one guy involved with the program stated between 1600 and 7000. Significanly lower than the 1970's Boss 302 #'s and a good bit higher than the 1969 302 #'s. My guess is around 3500 or so..

I think it'll have to be on the higher end of that for them to justify the tooling for things like the side exhaust and unique features that the Boss has. I would take a wild stab and say 4-5000 as an estimate. It keeps them exclusive enough, but not too exclusive.

The 08 Bullitt was limited to 7000 cars and they didn't sell all 7000 in 08 and the production run of 7000 ran into 09. Those were the numbers Ford needed to make a profit on their investment. The Bullitt included quite a few upgrades over a GT and was about a $3200 package.
Production numbers wise my guess is they will do basically the same thing with the Boss.

IMO Kona Blue with the black stripes is the best color combo and the one I would get. The orange and black is not bad but a little too in your face for me. White and black would be my second choice.
Its too bad they don't offer a silver and black color combo.

The bottomline is that Ford is in this to make MONEY. They are not building this just to give a select few people their dream come true. They need to make a PROFIT.

I think so too. I like the Kona Blue with white C stripes but the roof and hood just make it a little too much. I don't want to insult anyone but I think the color and stripe choices make most of the Boss models kind of ugly looking. Kona Blue with black trim at least looks a little more subtle.

However, it was often discussed that both the 01 & the 08 Bullitt needed to sell X amount of units to offset the royalties paid to Time Warner & the McQueen estate.
So to only make a few thousand Boss' when they put significant (& pricey) upgrades in this would surpise me.
I think it makes sense to produce about 7000, but only a few hundred of the LS like you mentioned.

the center pony badge in the grill and roof paint make the car look really awkward. I like the performance stuff and recaros but as far as looks this makes me sad
