Source on the 5.0L as exclusive? It was always meant to replace the 4.6/5.4, meaning duty in the Mustang and F150.
In a few years I will send you a pm when they stick it in a regular production Mustang.

This article has been dragged out hundreds of times, why not once more. All it talks about is an engine developed exclusively for the mustang.

It is cost prohibitive to spend money on an engine exclusive to a limited production vehicle. The 5.4 and 5.8 were variants of an engine originally in a truck, and then beefed up for Mustang use. It has turned up in various cars over the years, including the Ford GT.

I think you'll see this car priced at $55-ish, and the GT350R will be the $75,000 car.

I was thinking of making a plan to jump up from a V6 to a V8 in a few years.

Maybe I should be aiming higher? :-)

Yeah,....I think the HP and TQ ratings they are giving us here are low. I think it's over 500 HP and over 400 lbs. of TQ. How much more, I don't know.
I need to see more of this model before I pass judgement on it's looks. I think the performance will be there for sure.

Top Gear looks to have the same information... But they seem to finally have a positive view on this domestic car. lol

That thing sounds great though! I'd love to see one against a Boss on the track and of course the Z/28.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!! I've watched that video five times now and I still get goosebumps when the things roars and knocks the stink off a dead skunk. Holy cow.

OT: What's a healthy kidney go for these days on the black market? I think one may have just become available.

This car is a Boss slayer. If the s550 gt was close... This thing will be that much further past it.

I believe the z28 will be a very equal match performance wise, but for $20k less and have air conditioning honestly, this is putting ford on the map as an American performance auto maker, rather than just making the pony car to appease pony car people (I'm lumped in there). Now we need a ford gt to compete with the corvette. Until then, this thing will be stomping the likes of m3/m4 territory and sound better in the process

This car is awesome! It's everything I wanted from a GT350! I need to have it!

And here are some videos of it with sound! And it sounds incredible! Just be patient, Ford's video player is a little slow.

I think the GT350 is going to come in right under the Z/28 in performance. It as some really great street tires with the Michelin Pilot Super Sports but the Z/28 has what amounts to track tires grooved for a little bit of rain. Also the magneto shocks aren't quite as good as the spool valve dampers on the Z nor are the steel brakes equivalent to the Z's CCB's.

Not that I'm complaining mind you as I think the GT350 will be a **** fine street car with serious track capability where the Z/28 is a great track car that also happens to work on the street.

Hopefully Ford has a GT350R waiting in the wings specifically to embarrass the Z/28
