Well, looks like we'll finally be seeing the GT350 soon!

Date is in the same font as the leaked the Shelby badge

Very exciting! I had a good feeling it would be revealed around the LA Autoshow.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the new GT350! Watching it tear up the 'Ring was a great anticipation builder. Just a few more weeks!

Jalopnik has an interesting observation:

What's noteworthy is what's not featured; there's no drag racing.

Everything shown in the video is about going fast and loose, cornering not straightline speed. There's more attention to rallying than NASCAR, more time spent on Dakar racing and Trans Am, too. Drag racing doesn't even make the highlight reel.

The point of that is that there's an implication the GT350 (note the key Shelby rocker panel font for the 11.17.14 debut date) isn't about the engine and nothing else; it's about handling.

The extremely aggressive-looking tires back that up, as does the big exhaust and what looks like a wing at the back.

Given the success of the Chevy Camaro Z/28 compared to the ZL1, things look pretty good for Ford's smaller foil to the burnouts-and-not-much-else GT500.
Wonder if Ford's contemplating a replacement for the blunt instrument GT500?

ehh... I didn't see any tease about unveiling anything... but they put that date in there for a reason. Is there an auto show on that date?

Revealed (?)

Unless you've been enjoying the GT vs Camaro threads... then yes, you would be looking forward to it being reviled.

I think they are jumping the gun a bit, this is video 1 of 5, its about the heritage of ford performance so i think they are covering all of it through the 5 videos.

My suspicion, on 11/17 they'll roll out a NA 5.2 flat crank GT 350 to go up against the impressive Z/28. Later, a twin turbo 5.0/5.2 to replace the GT500 and go against the uber Camaros and Challengers.

Man do I hope you're right!! I'd be alllll over that gt350! I like the pictures they have put out there... Alcantara wheel, big exhaust finishers, wide wheels and tires (a must)... I hope they are going directly after the z/28, because frankly I believe ford can do better! And I like seeing Raj Nair in there, he's part of team ST and made the focus and fiesta platforms amazing handlers... And I feel like ford left some handling to be desired in the s550 for the performance models and later model refreshes.

I remember reading something by someone at Ford (I know, vague) that basically said "been there done that" as far as the ultra high horsepower blunt instruments as you put it. It would be nice to see the GT350 beat the Z28 at a lower price point.

The GT 350 should be a great handling car. The "blunt instrument"
GT 500 can be transformed into a solid track car with a few critical component changes (actually quite a few, don't ask me how I know)
The one below , in the right hands, can hang very well with Vipers, GTRs
911's, etc. That being said, I expect the new SVT Mustang version to be superb on the road course track....can't wait to try and read the part numbers on the taillight lenses next season.....

Did anyone else see hints there that it might be wearing pilot sports (instead of sport cups).... Hope that isn't the actual gt350 tire. If so it's possibly heading towards being a really good, sharp, knife, in a gunfight.. Stock for stock..

They look like super sports, which is awesome. Great tire. They were spotted on the prototypes.

As much as I'd love to see sport cups, those are expensive and won't last very long. I could see them being offered on a track pack or special edition like the Laguna Sea. Those had P Zero Corsa's which were a steerable track tire. Much like the Sport cups.

11 days!

I believe that is the GT350, that said, I'd like to see that blunt instrument make another appearance down the road.

You are correct, still, unless in a nod to history, the r model is also released, the gt350 has got a big deficit in tire against it's intended competition. It's not just tenths of a second between the super sports and a top r compound tire...
