I'm still holding to what I said a long time ago I won't buy the car until they remove the Shelby name from the car. Other than that nice car. Make it a GT350 only and might be interested.

I could care less if it has the Shelby name on it. I'd buy it anyways if i was in the market for one. Who knows, I might be in a couple of years

I doubt that anyone is losing any sleep over your decision

Edit: I just noticed by looking at all of the available pics that I don't see the name SHELBY anywhere. I didn't see SVT either...

The front and rear emblems have the Cobra w/GT350, the side fender emblems just have GT350, the dash emblem has the Cobra/GT350/Build#, the steering wheel has the Cobra, and the seats have GT350.

Maybe the sill plates, engine build plate, or the center wheel caps will have one or both of the monikers, but I don't see them...

This car is built by Ford in collaboration with SVT under the SHELBY GT350 brand licensing. I would think that SVT and SHELBY is branded somewhere... or not.

They aren't Pilot Cups, but that is so unnecessary on a street car, not to mention those tires have zero life in them. The PSS is a great compromise. The kind of person who will track a GT350 is going to have a dedicated set of track wheels/tires anyway! Even if you drove your Z/28 to the track, did a few laps, and drove home, you'd only be able to do that maybe 3-4 times before it was time for new tires. The PSS have been used on M3s, 911 Turbos, etc. They will do just fine on this application.
This, they're an amazing tire! I still want to see what Sport cups or Trofeos do, but you can't complain about this tire! Ford working with Michelin to make these specific super sports makes me think they tried to squeeze all of the performance out of the tire while maintaining a streetable tire. Or at least I hope so.

Carbon ceramics aren't used (on this model at least) due to cost reasons. Not only would they bump up the base price really high, think about replacing them. You'll go through a few full sets of steel brakes and it'll cost the same as one set of CC brakes!

The extra displacement is all bore, redline looks to be around 8200. That's insane! I can't wait to hear it scream. I can't find anything I don't like about this car, it just seems to perfect.

The more I look at the GT350, the more I LIKE it. The boldness of the lines, stance and wheels are what I wanted to see in a GT.

Take a closer look, as you'll see the Shelby name stamped on the black front chin spoiler !

Brian ! I couldn't disagree with your post more, as Ford and SVT built the GT350 as a tribute to Carroll Shelby.. So I don't understand why you wouldn't be interested in buying the car until his name is removed ?

Afterall this is the 50 anniversary for the Mustang and upcoming GT350 and IMHO it would be such an insult and disgrace for Ford to name the car anything other than Shelby GT350..

Leather? No thanks.
Nav? That's what my phone's windshield-mounted nav dock is for.

Next you'll want an automatic transmission and heated seats/mirrors/steering-wheel

WTF?

It's a street-legal race car.

The Z28 comes with a stereo that has ONE speaker and the A/C is optional.

Look up the history of the GT350 nameplate. It's always been the hard-core racer model, while the GT500 was the more muscle/straight-line/luxurious car.

Please spare me the street legal race car BS. A) 0.0005% of these will ever see a race track. B) The INSTANT one does, Ford will disown you. C) All that stuff (including the auto trans) is available on a Porsche GT3, the car they were supposedly using as one of the benchmarks.

And I have no interest in putting a "windshield-mounted nav dock." In a $60k car. I've had to do something similar in my Cayman, and I hate it, at least that car has the excuse of being 7 years old though.

Yeah, I saw that, though it does not mention "navigation". I assume the 8 inch screen hints at that though.

In my view if you really honestly and truly want a hardcore racer you should be willing to rip some guts out or buy the "R" model. I don't see anything wrong with adding in a tech package. The weight really can't be that much.

As much as I laugh at the "because racecar" mantra, my boss does lack for amenities and it spends most of its time on the street. And in the beginning it was cute not to have a decent stereo etc, but as time has gone by it's gotten rather old.

On the 350 though I could do without leather. The alcantara is a really nice feel.

Good grief. Ya'll would ***** if you were hung with a new rope.

It's an awesome car, just take it in for now. Lots of other awesome cars to pursue if this doesn't do it for you.

Its almost comical how pissy people get that ford didn't design the car how they had pictured in their head.
