I think the biggest problem with this design is the HIP. from the B-pillar forward it looks rather progressive but that hip looks to much like the 2010 -2013.

Also, I think once again it is where the 2013 refresh should have gone instead of putting that big shnozz on it. If the 2013 looked like this , It would have set up a design progression that they could have used to really move forward. Instead, as much as I don't really like it that much, they made the car MORE retro before going for a full change. Makes no sense to me.[/QUOTE]

:agreed:
The neest concept is very nice but not something that looks brand new. I agree it shouldve been more of the design for the 13 refresh. The hip is pretty much the same as the 10-14 range and this is the main area where designs should differ. Check out the difference between the 03-10 chargers and then look at the 11-current. Thats wvolutionary design. Its onstantly recognizable as a charger but very different from the previous generation. I really hope Ford hits the next design right. Im sure the majority of the concepts we have seen are way off what Ford really has in store.

Im hoping they take some Aston cues along with the current mustang. Maybe a muscle bound aston design? Either way guess we'll see mid 14 calendar year before we know what the next gen looks like. Smaller, lighter, more powerful but efficient powerplants. Fingers crossed

I honestly think you need to imagine the Fusion front end but slightly more aggressive and the proportions being slightly different.

I remember reading somewhere on the forums here that a Ford official said the next gen Mustang would not share fusion cues. I dont know if this os true or not but i dont see anything wrong with it doing so. The new fusion looks very nice and an aggressive take on that front end would be pretty sweet imo.

I agree about the front end. The rest of the fusion is slab sided and boring.

A couple of sources (one official - on a recent video / one not - a member here with an "inside contact") have said it will NOT share a Fusion/Evos front end. Which is good

I don't understand the hate behind the Evos design To be honest the first time I saw the Evos concept the first thing that went through my mind was "wow that looks like a futuristic mustang." The Fusion eventually adopted the design language thus making the car look more like a mustang, and not the other way around.

In fact I'll go as far as to say that the Evos was a concept mustang in disguise. Do I think it will look 100% like it.....NO. Do I think it will have a strong resemblance....ABSOLUTELY. A teaspoon of Aston Martin, a tablespoon of Evos, and a spoonful of mustang

I thought the same thing. I really like the evos.

I welcome the more futuristic mustang because I never really liked the retro look.

Smile

I don't dislike the Evos, in fact there are a number of styling cues I like, particulary the full fastback roofline. THAT I can imagine as a Mustang. The front end, not so much.

Thanks jacostang........I had a feeling it was you that had posted it

It was a while back (and policies change) but I remember reading that someone in Ford design stated that both the F150 and Mustang would always be "stand-alone" in terms of design, and would not slavishly follow the styling themes of the day.

So, I believe (hope) the '15 will use the Kinetic design language in terms of body surfacing/detailing (and the Evos is delicious in that respect) yet the overall bodystyle will remain strictly Mustang.

Here's hoping

Still looks a lot like the outgoing S197 which again was told it was going to look nothing like, However I do like the looks of your tweak.

Mirror mirror on the door.......

One thing.............I really hope Ford gives the '15 some subtle door mirros.......the ones on that 'chop are from the Fusion.....they're HUGE and they're UGLY.

It seems to be a trend recently, that they are mounted lower down on the door. No doubt this aids vision, but........

I like the front of the Fusion better. Don't like that line surrounding the front end.
