Hey Guys,
I've been working on a few projects, and have not had a chance to take a deeper look into the Cruise controls.
Its taken a great deal of effort to get the tools built I need to start working on Track apps.
I hope to have more on this subject of Track Apps soon.

I just had my radio replaced under warranty. They gave me a new bezel. Well they installed a radio from a 2013-2014 bc it looks different. Guess I will have to work on this now so they match lol

They replaced the radio and display. Screen was foggy and my sync stopped working. At least that's what they said they replaced. I like the new display. Just the font and brightness iNy the same as my gauge cluster anymore

I added an ON/OFF switch to the Black Box today. There are times when you will want to disable it .... For example:
1) Bringing you Car to dealer for Service
2) While loading an aftermarket Tune on your Car
3) While Data Logging with a Hand Held Tuner
4) When sending a Vehicle Health Report to Ford.
Items 3 and 4 will definitely NOT WORK with the Black Box operating. Item 1 and 2 are just to make sure there are not other possible conflicts.
Since I installed the box in the console .. I was able to just splice a small switch into the ground wire ...
Works as intended.

Jim, you can actually switch yours off at the box. Move the switch on the side to P (for programming) and it will cut off the main CPU.
I did this on your box specifically since we will be doing a little debugging/development for trans temps.

Plugged in and working fine.
I was going to put it under the dash, but I ended up putting it where dmhines did, and sliced into the same spots.
The tranny temp doesn't work though. Ready for the next step.

I suppose your thinking about redoing the cruise control.
As I mentioned in the email, it would be extremely difficult to make the 13/14 switch work like it does on the 13 with the 12 PCM.
It is possible, but not cost effective.

On start up, they all work except for inlet air temp, which doesn't read anything. Then they all shut off and turn on again. They then all read at the lowest value on the guage. They shut off for 10 sec and then come back for 6 sec and it repeats.
voltmeter reads fine, but the others are affected. inlet air temp doesn't read at all.

Weird. Sounds like defective box or bad connections.
The reason I was thinking that it should be disabled before service is because it could interfere or cause errors on Fords diagnostic equipment.
No reason to touch the odbii port for an oil change. Did you have them update your Sync to latest version?

It was just a 40 000 km service and had some front end warranty work done. I didn't think that they would do any diagnostics. It definitely worked before the service. I can't say for sure it worked when I picked up the car yesterday, but definitely not now. Zero is going to help me fix it.
