Haven't driven it yet. Matt assured me it will.

What works for me with Matt's reworked Switch.

CNCL/RSM turns cruise ON.
Set - sets the speed.
ON/OFF turns it OFF
Set + seems to also turn it off

The most important thing is that Matts rework sets the NO BUTTON resistance to the correct amount for the 2012 PCM. The standard 2013 switch had resistance value that would make the 2012 PCM think the ON BUTTON was being held down all the time.

I responded to your PM, I have some theories why Set + is not resume like mine.

For me, the most exciting part, Is i can turn cruise on and off, then set the speed. Who uses that other junk?

Looking at the circuit pathways between the 2012 and 2013, the on/off are quite different. If I am looking at these right, the on/off in 2013 sends the same signal, while it is different signals in 2012. 2012 has 2 different pathways for on and off while 2013 uses the same pathway. Does not seem possible to make on/off work using the correct button. Am I right in this?

Can the other commands be made to work?

So everything has the same pathway except for the 'on'? It looks like all buttons can use the same resistors except for 'on'. Cancel won't work, though, right?

And from what I can see, no way for 'on' to work either.

So. If we want all the buttons to work as intended, this won't happen?

Also, my schematics are showing different values than the ones Zero got for 2013. Not too surprising, as my schematics for the switch connector is wrong as well. Values on the left are what my schematics say they should be. Values on the right are what Zero got. There is agreement for 2012 (except for 'on'), but set-, set+, no buttons, and resume for 2013 are different.

Correct, the pathways between the two switches are different. (Why whomever designed the switch did this, who knows)

I tried several different schematics to simulate button pushes and resistor values on the 13' switch. What I did in post 499 of this thread was as close as I could get the resistance values to numbers the 12' pcm expects.

The biggest problem is that the 12' switch uses a rocker switch for ON/OFF whereas the 13' Uses a single switch for the same function.

Also the 12' does not have a cancel button, whereas the 13' shares a Cancel resume.

The schematics are wrong in the Service manual. (Go figure)

I'm going to look at building a separate translator, but I do fear it may take a lot of effort to build one out.

I tried cruise button again on way to work ...

CNL/RSM turns it on.
SET - ... sets speed .. multiple presses does lower speed and cruise stays on.
SET + ... does nothing that I can tell.
ON/OFF turns it OFF.

I also sent Matt an PM about my iTSX tuner possibly crashing his black box ...

I'd rather see Track Apps working before 100% Cruise functionality. Although having the Cruise LIght illuminate would be nice.

Yes, I saw this too as the problem.

Hopefully not. I would be happy to pay for this solution if it restores functionality.

I'd love to see a13 + guage with full working track aps - I could care less about cruise if its a huge deal to modify/make work. Maybe I'm different than everyone else but I don't even know if I've ever set my cruise ...

Same here. Cruise is a non-issue but it would be nice tohave it work just in case. Same withtrack Apps, I’m more into the Gauges. SoI’ve been following this thread on and off and there is a lot of technical jargongoing on. So what would it all take for thisinstall? $$ wise and parts wise?

Parts:

2013 Cluster
2013 Info Switch
ZeroAviation Black Box

You will need to pay dealer for PATS RELEARN and ASBUILT updates.
You will need to pay to get your ODOMETER set correctly
You will need to pay Zero for his Hardware controller.

Track Apps MAY need a 2013 ABS module.

Keep in mind everthing should work perfectly by just swapping in a 2013 PCM and a 2013 ABS module.

I'm concerned about cruise because I am also thinking down the road when the car gets sold or traded in.

I was tempted to go this route, but was scared that other modules in the car would have to be swapped out as well to allow for proper communication between them all. But I have no idea what other modules would be involved either.

Just save all the parts so it can be swapped back before selling or included with sale.

I have, just in case.

Unfortunately, I'd have to send the old cluster back for an ODO correction and PATS. I'd rather just give that money to Zero to make a module to fix it.

Actually, what I will try later on is to see if my 2012 cluster works in my 2005.

2013 Cluster from Tousley = $500
2013 Info Switch from Tousley = $20
2013 Info Switch Cruise Mod = $25 (includes parts)
Black Box = $180
Pats Relearn & ASBUILT = $110 varies by dealer.
Odometer I think is $100ish?

Agreed on the 2013 ABS module, but i'm concerned about AdvanceTRAC working correctly. I'm going to get this module next month, then pull the EEPROM and see if i can do some... well in plain terms.. Hacking

When I trade mine in (For a GT500 w00t!) I'm going to return everything back to stock, cluster, nav, everything.

I agree. Let me take the plunge first with the ABS module, and i'm working on coming up with a PCM. More than likely will have to get creative with EEPROM images and AS built on certain modules. I have aquired a new piece of software that will help alot in this department. Just need a good J2534 Interface (also getting next month I hope)

Ditto!

Humm.. If the plug fits I'm sure that the Speedo, RPM, and Water temp will work as they use can data that was derived as a Ford standard in 2003.
