Yes, you can!

The fill hole is forward of the shifter mounting hole in the tunnel by about 12 to 15 inches, but while you have the boot out, you could easily refill the gearbox with a funnel and a piece of hose. I've done mine a few times now and I use a hose down from the engine bay, but doing it from the inside will work just as well.

No, gonna be working the next 5 days. I do have Friday, Sat, and Sunday off tho so if its nice then maybe then.

I did watch the 3 videos today on the way to work....,.. Yikes. It looks like its gonna be some project to install. But seems very well pieced together but not too easy of an install.

How many guys did it solo? I may be stuck Doing it alone.

Hey man...

I watched the video about a total of 4 times. At the time, it was my first stang, so I wasn't familiar with the standard location of parts, etc etc. I also never did an entire shifter before, so this was a first for me. I pretty much memorized every name of the part, and every location of of the pieces and where to put them/install them. It really helped. That way, when the car is jacked up and I'm underneath there, it was much smoother.

Even with all that review though, I sought the help of a buddy. IMO, having two people helped immensely during the installation of the clam shell/bolting that on, since one guy can hold the assembly steady from the top through the shifter hole, while I'm on the bottom with my wrench and small hands. I wish I could have used 2 pairs of hands for that darn shifter boot, but it's so small that only one person at a time can do that. IMO, that was the biggest pain the rear.

Still, it was a 2 hour job, WELL WORTH THE HARDWORK Good luck bro. Ask more questions, and post pics!!!

EDIT: Since I still see no pics of the said MGW shifter you received, there is nothing to install

hehehehehehe

The dude you bought it from can probably chime in here, and just tell you. lol.

The new-er version has 4 bolts on the clamshell to secure the shifter arm (instead of 3 bolts on earlier version). It also has one tapered red bushing and one non tapered bushing instead of 2 white non tapered bushings on the earlier version. Both were design improvements. So hopefully you got those. Otherwise, sell to someone else?

Fly... if you have a 6MT, the MGW is a must-have. And no, I don't work for them, nor do I get commission. It's just a blast to shift and drive. Pure bliss. I always go back to: I thought the stock shifter was good. Then I went with MGW. Not even close.

****, watching these videos it's safe to say the MGW is permanent once installed. It looks like it'll be hell to install the factory back in. Especially with all those plastic retaining clips lol

That's one reason I held off. I didn't think I was going to keep my car for more than a couple years. But this crappy stock shifter has finally got to me.

Haha. I opened it and saw the white bushing and knew right away.

Hopefully this weekend, I'm actually off 3 days. Been used to 1 day. Hopefully I don't jinx it.

I liked the stocker for a short while till I learned the habits of the MT. Now when I get hung up occasionally on the divide between the 1-2 and 3-4 gate all I think of is the MGW shifter.

Decided, ordering this April. Can't wait!
